We are going bigger, bigger and BIGGER !!!. Our Hive Family is rapidly expanding especially in the northern part of Cebu, Philippines. From the latest Hive Onboarding Orientation last June 24, 2023, in Caduwaan Elementary School, we made again a successful Hive Onboarding Orientation last July 29, 2023. ( I'm Excited to share with you what happened)
Preparation
A few weeks before the day of orientation the Teacher-Bloggers of Cebu North notified us that there are more Teachers and individuals who are interested in joining and learning about the Hive blockchain. So we schedule another Hive onboarding on this area together with @ybanezkim26 and @indayclara. We put it in a calendar where all are free and can attend the orientation.
For everyone's information, the location of onboarding is 90 kilometers from the place of Cebu City where @ybanezkim26 lives. We will travel 3-4 hours to reach the place. The Schedule time is 9:00 am on the morning of July 29. We are afraid to be late again if we travel from our place on the same day of orientation just like on the first one. So, we decided to have an overnight at @indayclara's place in San-Remegio, It is a nearby the municipality of Tabogon Cebu and 1 hour away from the place of orientation. (glad that @indayclara was in her cave in San-Remegio that time)
Orientation Day
On the day of orientation, we depart from the house of Clara in San-Remegio by 8:10 am and took a Bus for 35 mins. going to the intersection of Dikit then we ride a motorcycle going to Kal-anan National High School where the orientation will be held.
Late? Hahaha honestly yes! But for 5 mins only. Hahaha (sign of being a Filipino is always late and it's not a good one, am I right Kabayan?).
When we enter the school we saw a familiar face with a big smile, suited with her user name in Hive, @callmesmile. She roams around in the School garden which is full of vegetation while waiting for us and the other attendees.
A few minutes, we enter the Science lab room of the school where we will hold the Onboarding Orientation. While waiting for others, Kim and I set-up first our material for our presentation. Though It takes a while to set up properly cause of some technical problems, in the end, we make some adjustments to make this orientation happen. When all the attendees are inside the room we immediately start the Orientation.
Introduction
At the start of orientation, @indayclara began by setting up the energy of the audience. She also asks about their names and hobbies so we can guide them properly on where to begin in the Hive platform after their introduction blog.
We also share our experience and journey in Hive together with the other Teacher-Bloggers of Cebu- North. Most of them highlight the incentives and takeaways they got after joining this platform. We also share the type of blogs we write up so they can have an Idea of what kind of topic they will publish on Hive.
Hive Blockchain
After the Introduction, @Ybanezkim26 followed by discussing, What is Hive?, Its different eco-system and its front-ends. He discussed blockchains, Crypto Currency, NFT and exchanges. He also discusses the difference between Hive to other Web 2 social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Tiktok. He delivers it smoothly and precisely as always.
PeakD Interface
Then, I discuss the @PeakD interface next, but we encounter a problem on this part because the internet in the area was very poor. We just connect to cellular data just to bridge the discussion. We always discuss the PeakD interface live online, so we struggled a lot on this part. Thanks to @indayclara for the backup and feel-in-the-dead air of the presentation while loading every interface of @PeackD. in the end, we finish the @PeakD interface discussion even at a slow pace. (She is indeed a pro speaker).
Do's and Don'ts
After the PaekD Interface, she followed the Do's and Don'ts in Hive blogging. She emphasizes plagiarism on this platform, and how sinful it is if they attempt to do it. She also shares some tips to make a quality blog.
OCD Program
Next, @ybanezkim26 and @indayclara tackled the @OCD Programs. For everyone's information, this initiative of orientation is connected with the OCD Onboarding Program, that has the goal of bringing more individuals inside the Hive Blockchain. We are grateful that the @OCD team and @hiveph community are with us on this onboarding orientation.
The presentation took us 2 and a half hours to finish. It ended with a question-and-answer portion. We are very pleased with every question they ask to clarify everyone's queries. It was an interactive discussion for everyone. Hoping we provide the answer to every question they have on this orientation.
Then, It was followed by a photo op for attendees and more onboarded Teacher-Bloggers of Cebu North as documentation of this orientation.
Full Tummy
After the orientation, the Teacher-Bloggers prepare sumptuous food for snacks and lunch. (Snacks were distributed while orientation was ongoing). They provide fresh coconut juice, pizza, and maccaron for snacks. Lechon manok and hanging rice (poso) for lunch. We are so grateful for this blessing they shared with us. During this time also, we create a small bond and time. We also talk and plan our future Hive events in the area.
The exact location of orientation was held in Kal-anan National High School Tabogon Cebu, Philippines. It was organized and lead by @selflessgem and @missjoycee together with other Teacher-bloggers of Cebu North @callmesmile, @naymhapz, @jobeliever, @ciadanmea,@netswriting, @virgoxsy, @annetimistic, and @mrexperienciado. We have fifteen interested new attendees willing to learn and ready to explore the new internet we called Hive.
Teacher-Bloggers of Cebu North are very amazing at escalating the Hive blockchain in their community. You will feel the enthusiasm and eagerness of everyone to bring this platform to their loved ones, friends, and family.
