Cuba was crowned champion at the I Baseball5 World Cup held in Mexico City.
In the emblematic Plaza del Zócalo, the Caribbean team was the best from start to finish, finishing undefeated both in the qualifying phase and in the super round and the final.
For the gold, the Cubans beat Japan a couple of times, as they had done when they shared Group A.
In the first challenge the Caribbeans won nine races for one and in the second 6× 2.
Earlier, Taiwan won bronze by beating Venezuela 2-1 (2×0, 2×4 and 5×3).
From fifth to twelfth place were Mexico, Tunisia, South Africa, Kenya, France, South Korea, Lithuania and Hong Kong, in that order.
