El pasado fin de semana se llevaron a cabo lo que fue el Gran Premio de Gran Bretaña de la categoría reina del automovilismo, la Fórmula 1, además de la segunda carrera de la temporada de la serie de la copa NASCAR en el óvalo de Atlanta Motor Speedway. En la F1 el ganador fue Max Verstappen de la escudería RedBull, continuando con el dominio, no dejando nada para los demás, consiguiendo la sexta carrera de manera consecutiva y la octava en total de la temporada, además que sus dos otros resultados han sido segundo lugar y esto por problemas que presento en dichas carreras, en el Gran premio de Arabia Saudita y Gran Premio de Azerbaiyán. Por otro lado tenemos a William Byron, quien logró su cuarta victoria de la temporada en la serie mayor de NASCAR, un triunfo en Atlanta donde la carrera se vio recortada por la lluvia, pero de esto les hablaré más adelante.
Comenzando con el Gran Premio de Gran Bretaña, les puedo decir que la carrera fue mucho mejor que la pasada en Austria, más allá de continuar viendo el dominio de Vertappen, quedando en cada una de las sesiones en el primer lugar, no se vio amenazada, aunque vimos que todo estuvo un poco más parejo, la diferencia no fue tan marcada con en grandes premios anteriores. La competencia fue más cerrada, vimos el avance de otros equipo, como Mclaren, donde en la clasificación sus dos pilotos quedaron segundo y terceros, con Lando Norris y Oscar Piastri respectivamente. En la carrera Norris logró mantener su posición, más allá de la gran batalla que tuvo con su compatriota Lewis Hamilton, pero finalmente el de Mclaren se quedó con la posición, mientras que el siete veces campeón de la categoría (Lewis Hamilton) fue tercero. Piastri fue cuarto, lo que nos dice que esto para nada fue casualidad.
El dominio de la escudería austriaca (RedBull) ha sido tan marcada, que han ganado todas las carrera de la temporada, no han dejado para nadie, pero lo que si hay que mencionar es las malas clasificaciones que ha tenido el mexicano, Sergio Checo Pérez en las últimas 5 clasificaciones, incluso en esta de Gran Bretaña quedó eliminado en la Q1, tras una mala estrategia de sus ingenieros, pero allí es donde me plateo, ¿Siempre los problemas son para el mexicano? allí es donde vienen las teorías conspirativas, todo parece ser un sabotaje, porque como es posible que en el inicio todo se le daba a Checo Pérez, ganado en Arabia Saudita y Azerbaiyán, peleando el campeonato con su compañero y luego de Mónaco, todo las oportunidades se le vinieron abajo. Claro hay que mencionar que el principado fue más un error de él, pero me parece que incluso tenga una auto distinto. No soy fanático de ninguno de estos pilotos, tan solo es una opinión personal, para nada es un secreto que en F1 la mayoría de los equipos tienen un piloto 1 y un segundo conductor, más allá que de vez en cuando los dejen pelear.
Cerrando el tema de RedBull, no podemos dejar por fuera analizar las últimas dos carreras de Aston Martin (AM) y dar una opinión. Claramente el coche de AM no tiene las mismas prestaciones en los circuitos de Austria y Gran Bretaña que técnicamente pueden ser parecidos en algunas zonas, donde allí vemos la falencia que tiene este auto. Pero a pesar de esto el español Fernando Alonso, bicampeón de la F1, logro quedar entre los puntos, con una quinta y séptima posición en sus últimos dos resultados en esta pista, manteniendo la tercera plaza del campeonato, aunque le viene recortando sus rivales. Se espera que para las próximas carreras todo mejore, pero también hay que tener claro la evolución de los demás equipos, sobre todo Mclaren, Mercerdes y William. Los que si no levantan cabeza son las Ferrari, una escudería histórica, pero esta temporada han tenido un gran declive, luego del gran comienzo de la campaña anterior donde pensamos que las cosas iban a ser distintas. Pero este Gran premio de Gran Bretaña fue un fracaso para la escudería italiana.
Este Gran Premio de Gran Bretaña fue un poco más emocionante que su predecesor de la temporada, vimos unos bonitos adelantamientos y batallas, que me hacen pensar lo distintos que sería las categorías con carreras muchas más batalladas, donde en la temporada haya distintos ganadores y no, una monotonía de una escudería o piloto. Quede satisfecho con la carrera, aunque me espera más espectáculo y sorpresas, pero en general mejor que Austria. Clearly the AM car does not have the same performance in the circuits of Austria and Great Britain, which technically may be similar in some areas, where we see the shortcomings of this car. But despite this, the Spanish Fernando Alonso, two-time F1 champion, managed to finish in the points, with a fifth and seventh position in his last two results at this track, maintaining the third place in the championship, although his rivals have been trimming him. El domingo por la tarde se disputó la fecha 19 de 26 de la temporada regular de la serie de la copa NASCAR, en el óvalo de Atlanta como ya les había mencionado. William Byron fue quien se llevó la victoria en una carrera donde no se pudo completar todas las vueltas, donde tan solo pudieron completar 185 giros de 260, pero luego de finalizado el segundo segmento y si se presenta algún contratiempo, la categoría puede dar por terminada la carrera, ya que la misma es oficial, y esto fue lo que paso en la Quaker State 400. Quede un poco decepcionado porque quería seguir viendo más, aunque para ser sincero me gustaban más las carreras del pasado en Atlanta, ya que ahora las competencias son al estilo del superspeedway, todo a fondo y saber trabajar en la succión.
Como se los comente en mi anterior post, en la previa de estas dos competencias de la cual les estoy trayendo el resumen hoy, para la carrera de NASCAR en Atlanta no tendría prácticas, lo mismo pasa en Daytona y Talladega, algo que no estoy totalmente de acuerdo, ya que las prácticas son importantes, colocar la puesta a punto del coche y probarlo antes de la carrera, pero luego de la pandemia del Covid-19 y para reducir los gastos, se tomaron algunas medidas como estas. La clasificación si se disputo, donde Aric Almirola logrando la pole, pero lo más impresionante de todo es que en las primeras 6 posiciones quedaron solo autos de la marca Ford y esto no me sorprende porque en este estilo de pistas y carreras, siempre suelen destacar. Ryan Blaney fue segundo cerrando la primera línea.
Atlanta desde 2022 que es una pista donde se suelen dar muchos adelantamientos, cambios en la punta, aunque en esta carrera tan solo hubo 18 entre 12 pilotos, pero hay que tomar en cuenta que la carrera no se disputo en su totalidad, faltaron darse 75 vueltas. Otro factor que hay que tomar en cuenta de esta carrera, es el hecho que solo se dieron 7 banderas amarillas, donde dos fueron para cerrar los segmentos uno y dos. Además de una bandera roja cuando apareció la lluvia. Pero también se presentaron múltiples accidentes, donde de hecho quedó atrapado William Byron en el incidente de la vuelta 81, pero por suerte no sufrió daños que fuese evitado este gane.
