Ahora, como todos los seres humanos sobre la faz de la tierra, tenemos nuestros altos y nuestros bemoles. Y si estamos de acuerdo en ello, los deportistas sufren de la misma calamidad, la cual se engrandece porque son personas públicas. Hasta aquí estamos de acuerdo ¿no? Bien, entonces veamos la primera acepción: "Creencia o confianza" Para nuestro caso, al decir "mano tengo fe" estamos asegurando entrelíneas que creemos en la Vinotinto o afirmando que tenemos confianza en nuestra selección. La pregunta necesaria a estas alturas es: ¿Está la selección vinotinto alimentando esa creencia o esa confianza con resultados? Para responder la interrogante tendríamos por revisar los resultados de la última jornada, investigar también donde estábamos ubicados en la clasificación y en cual lugar nos dejaron ambos partidos, luego de la repartición de puntos. Antes de la jornada, Venezuela ocupaba la sexta plaza y si la eliminatoria hubiera terminado en ese momento, tendríamos el cupo asegurado al Mundial FIFA 2026. Son 18 partidos en la ronda eliminatoria y la jornada consistió en dos fechas: contra Argentina de locales y contra Paraguay de visitantes. Luego de la conclusión de las dos fechas, Venezuela bajó al octavo puesto de la clasificación y si ésta hubiese sido la última jornada, habríamos quedado eliminados para jugar en el mundial.
Ahora sí, la pregunta que encabeza nuestros pensamientos de hoy: ¿Cuánta fe es necesaria? ¿Cuánta creencia es suficiente? ¿Cuánta confianza es imprescindible? Menuda cuestión ¿Verdad? Y entonces ¿Qué piensa, mi amado lector, nos responderían nuestros abuelos? ¿O las estrellas futbolísticas que brillaron en el pasado? ¿O las esposas de los deportistas dolientes? Tal como vemos la vida nosotros, la fe jamás será suficiente. Dicen los entendidos: "el público es el doceavo jugador de la cancha" cuando uno de los dos equipos es local.
