Se decidieron ya dos de los tres cupos que otorga UEFA para el mundial de Qatar 2022 vía repechajes. A falta de disputarse los partidos de semifinal y final en la llave A, que se jugarán en junio producto al aplazamiento del duelo entre Ucrania y Escocia, en la llave B se clasificó Polonia, y por la C logró su boleto mundialista, Portugal. Estos equipos estarán involucrados en el sorteo que se realizará el 1ro de abril próximo, así como el ganador de la llave A, aunque no esté definido.

Con este resultado Portugal clasifica a su sexto mundial de manera consecutiva y Cristiano Ronaldo se une, si no sucede nada raro, al selecto club de los jugadores que han disputado 5 mundiales. Portugal se encuentra en el bombo 1 por lo que existe la posibilidad de que se enfrente con Polonia en fase de grupos.
