My son is just 3 years old but is eager to go to school already maybe because it is what he saw from his older sisters.
Last August, my husband enrolled him to pre school knowing that his godmother, the teacher in preschool will be retiring soon. Fortunately, our son was accepted he had to go to school at 7:30 - 9:30 in Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Last week, it was their exam and the class was divided into 4 groups, 9 children in each session and the kids were called in one by one.
There were two teachers doing the assessment, thus two childrens got in in one time and the teachers made them copy them. They danced, and played ball; the teachers let them recognize colors and let them write on a paper using crayons.
I usually leave my son in school after he goes in but that time, instincts told me to wait for a bit. And indeed I was called to come in a few minutes after for further interview. I was asked if my son is able to walk up and down the stairs, and if he knows how to button and unbutton his shirt, if he knows how to change and wear clothes all by himself, if he likes to play by himself or if he prefer to be with other kids. I was also asked if my son would share his toys and food with others kidsand my answers are all positive.
My son is having fun during the whole intervie an it feels like the teachers were so kind and nice to the that they feel safe with them too.
At home, my son has lots of excuses in writing but I'm still not forcing him to. But I do hope he will gain interest in it soon with the help of his sisters and me.
Growing a child is not easy,I hope that his want to becoming a police officer someday soon will make in grow more interest in school and learning.
After the exam, we went home and a photo of our shadows in the ground.
Band here are some photos I captured while waiting for him. My son's classmates and their parents, and some reflections of trees on a concreted motorcycle tires.
Arring home, I found my husband getting ready find us in school. He said he worried a lot why I was not yet home, and thought that something might have happened and I was touched by his gestures.
I showed him our son's work and the details on the interview and was very happy knowing about it. My husband is a better teacher than I am, and has longer patience in teaching kids more than I do.
During my girl's time in preschool, Ihad never experienced such activities; my husband's neices were there but now they transfered to another place. It feels so good to be there with your kids making another step in their journeys.
This will be all for now, happy Sunday everyone.
