Sunsets, Bonfires, and Bonding in San Bernardino, Batangas

It's so enjoyable to go to the beach to unwind, right? Especially when you're feeling overwhelmed with work, studies, personal life, and so on.😊

We, the student organization of our college, planned to have a team-building event because we all deserve to unwind, even if it's just for an overnight stay. We went to San Bernardino, Batangas with our two advisers, one department head from our college, and one professor from senior high.

Some of us joined even though they had pending academic tasks, and others had work the next day, hahaha. So, we found this resort on a Facebook group page. And beside it was budget-friendly and could accommodate many people, so we decided to go for it. We also rented a van and a 24-seater jeep to accommodate everyone.😁

D-DAY!!

Before departing, we counted and arranged our belongings at our meeting area, which was approximately six in the morning. We prayed for a safe journey to our destination and one of our members was running late and nearly missed the jeep, so we left a little later than planned. A few of us took breaks and enjoyed some music while traveling.

We had to travel a considerable distance to reach the private resort we had reserved because we got lost in route. When we discovered that it was actually a pavilion with a half-court, a swimming pool, and five beds, we weren't disappointed.😁

Of course, we didn't go there just to swim or relax. We had a program planned for the afternoon and evening. So, from morning until 3 pm, everyone had free time for swimming, resting, and enjoying the surroundings.

We had an activity where we were divided into five groups to create our own flags, and then we played a game of "pass the gossip." While playing, the sunset over the sea was really beautiful. It was great to reflect on life during those moments, hahaha.

In the evening, we had dinner, and one of our friends made carbonara! It's our favorite because it's so delicious! It was creamy with a bit of a spicy kick, T__T, sigh. Right after that, we had a bonfire.πŸ”₯

We shared birthday messages for Ange before proceeding to the main agenda, which was recognizing the student leaders for their performance throughout the year. We awarded certificates and shared messages with each other. Some cried, and there were also moments of laughter. This was one of the most memorable days for me hehe πŸ˜…

The next morning, we had a mini huddle with our advisers to discuss leadership before having breakfast and leaving the resort. But it didn't end there. 😊❀️

On our way back, we had another long journey and some nap moments in the jeep. We also reached lunchtime on the road, so we made a stopover in Tagaytay to grab some McDonald's since it was the closest option we found on our route. The view from up there was breathtaking, and after that, we went near the road for a photo. Rest assured, there were only a few cars in the area, so it's safe to stay there. πŸ˜„

Our overnight trip was a memorable experience. We were able to unwind, reconnect, and refresh which strengthened our commitment to face the obstacles in our careers, academic pursuits, and daily lives. The experiences we had and the knowledge we gained from the journey will stick with us, inspiring and bringing our student organization together.❀️
