The theme "Bacolod City College: Aton Buluthu-an, Amligan" truly resonates with our collective responsibility to promote education and cultural heritage. Education is vital in shaping our youth, and we, as educators, must strive to provide a conducive and inspiring learning environment. We must instill in them the importance of preserving their cultural identity, customs, and traditions. As we move forward in this modern age, we should not forget our roots, as it plays a vital role in shaping our future.

The word "buluthu-an" in Hiligaynon means a place where people gather for community activities, and this is exactly what Bacolod City College aims to be. A place where not only students can learn but also where the community can gather and learn from each other.

The Brigada Eskwela 2023 campaign has a goal of making schools ready for the new academic year, and this includes maintenance and cleaning of the school grounds, classrooms, and facilities. However, our department also recognizes that our responsibility goes beyond just physical cleaning, but also to provide an atmosphere of inclusion and diversity in our school community.

Brigada Eskwela 2023 is an excellent opportunity to promote these values and engage in community work. Our team is thrilled to take part in various activities, such as repainting school buildings, cleaning classrooms, and conducting school repairs. These small steps are significant in creating a more enjoyable and conducive learning environment.

Our role as educators does not only limit within the walls of the classroom, but it extends beyond. As the Department of Education once said, "It takes a village to raise a child." It means that education and values should not be limited within the classroom but should involve the community, family, and culture.

In line with this, we have organized various activities that showcase the unique heritage and culture of Bacolod City and its people. We have invited local artists to display their artwork, dancers to perform traditional dances, and speakers to talk about the history of the city. We want our students to appreciate and embrace their cultural roots while still being open and respectful to other cultures.
As we embark on this meaningful journey, we are excited to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty as we engage in various activities that will help improve the physical condition of our school and create a safe, conducive learning environment for our students. From painting the school walls, repairing the classrooms, and cleaning the premises, we will do whatever it takes to make sure that our school is in the best shape possible.

More than just a day of cleaning and fixing, Brigada Eskwela is an opportunity for us to bond and strengthen our ties with our fellow teachers, students, and parents. Together, we will work hand in hand to create a better future for our community.
Moreover, we also understand the importance of supporting our local economy. Hence, we have encouraged our staff and students to support small businesses and buy local products whenever possible. Through this, we can contribute to the growth of our local community and promote sustainability.

In conclusion, the Teacher Education Department of Bacolod City College takes pride in being part of the Brigada Eskwela 2023 campaign, and we pledge to continue providing quality education while upholding the importance of our heritage and culture. Together, let us make Bacolod City College: Aton Buluthu-an, Amligan – a place where learning, diversity, and community spirit thrive.
