Navigating the Path through the DOST Examination

DOST SCHOLARSHIP_20240413_094348_0000.png

I realize how much the DOST scholarship means to me. It's not just about me doing well, but about helping my family too. If I get it, my family won't have to worry about paying for my schooling. Every time I study late into the night or give up something fun, it's because I want this so much. I want to make life easier for my family. The DOST scholarship isn't just a way to go to college; it's like a promise for a better future. It's about making our dreams come true and showing everyone what we're capable of. So, as I wait and hope, I keep thinking about how much this opportunity means to me and my family.

MY JOURNEY IN DOST

My girlfriend and I both have the same schedule for the DOST scholarship examination, which starts at 1 PM. In the morning, I began printing the forms required to enter the DOST program and getting ready for the exam.

WITH MY CLASSMATES

My friends and I are gathering for our exam. We'll meet at Savemore at 11 am because the test is at the ST. CATHERINE COLLEGE, SANTINIAN BUILDING, 3RD FLOOR, POBLACION 1, CARCAR CITY, CEBU. We'll take a jeepney there, and during the ride, I'll be going over my study materials for the exam.

traffic

The traffic was really bad because the road was only wide enough for one direction, and there was a big ten-wheeler truck blocking it. Our jeep got stuck, but thankfully the driver was skilled. He managed to carefully maneuver to the side of the road to get us out of the jam. We were relieved because we thought we would be late for our exam.

ARRIVED IN CARCAR

When we got to our destination right at noon, we grabbed some snacks, like quik-quik and buko juice, to make sure we wouldn't be hungry during the exam. The place was unexpectedly beautiful and had a vintage charm. I was surprised to see that the school was so close to the church. We had a great time taking photos and enjoying the scenery.

3rd Floor classroom

After eating some snaks, we go to the 3rd floor that the room of examination. I pass the form than i printed in morning. My girlfriend first got inside of the room, then im next, i did expect the sitting arrangement are still same in the line in passing form. After we all classmates are inside of the room, we waited to start of examination in 1pm. I snapped a picture before the exam begins.

DURING EXAMINATION

The exam was really tough, and I'm doing my best to tackle it. Passing the DOST scholarship means a lot to me. The test covers Verbal and Nonverbal Reasoning, all sorts of Science like chemistry, Earth Science, and planets, plus Mathematics, which includes physics, algebra, and more. Science was especially challenging for me, and math too, especially with trigonometry like cosine and sine that I can't compute without a calculator. But I'm giving it my all, and if I can't figure it out, I just trust my instincts and hope for the best and lucky.

AFTER EXAMINATION

After finishing our exams, my friends and I are exploring around town in Carcar and snapping photos together. We're really hungry from all that test-taking, so we're brainstorming where to eat. We wander around aimlessly, searching for a restaurant. Finally, we spot a Jollibee YEEEYY!!

JOLLIBEE!!!

We went to Jollibee and ordered some chicken. My classmates chose a mix and match. My friend Sean seemed sad because his girlfriend wasn't with us. I felt sorry for him, so I treated him some chicken. It was funny because he ended up being the third wheel. We were surprised by the difference since we're used to the touchscreen ordering system.

Check out this yummy fried chicken from Jollibee in Carcar City! I'm craving while doing this blog, I couldn't resist it HAHAHAHAHAGAHA. The chicken smells amazing, and it's got this spicy seasoning that adds a nice kick to it. We're really enjoying our meal, and we're also having fun teasing my classmate Sean. He's doing fine without his girlfriend, especially since he's getting a free meal out of it!

GOING HOME

After enjoying a meal at Jollibee, we stepped outside and waited for the jeepney to arrive. Once we were on board, we had a lot of fun because of the mirror on the ceiling reflecting our silly faces. When I reached Tinaan, I headed home to rest and pray for success in my examination.

That's all for now, everyone. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you liked it, and please join me in praying for success in my exams. Thank you!
