Thank You! Celebrating 1 Year on Hive

One year on Hive and counting!

Hello dear hive friends. Time flies so fast. It feels like it was just yesterday when I joined hive. It was May 24 when I signed up. How could I forget, it's my sister's birthday too. Now, I can't believe I made this far. Until now, I am still enjoying and happy being in this incredible platform.

Hivebuzz being the busy bee never failed to remind me of this new milestone of my hive journey. But for some personal reasons, I was not able to post about it. Well, it is not that it is required but for me milestones like this is worth sharing and celebrating.

Expectation vs. Reality

Joining hive was a story about expectation vs reality for me. But instead of expecting the best vs experiencing the not so good, it was the other way around for me.

When my friend @labanez first introduce this platform to me, I kinda shrug it off. I wasn't expecting so much about it. I had doubt about the platform since its my first time to hear about a blogging site that rewards cryptocurrency. During that time I came from a place of experiencing the worst when it comes to crypto. I experienced being scammed that made me doubt about it. So I signed up not having so much expectation. I only signed up because of my friend's persuasion and just to get through it and for her to stop annoying me. Haha!

But when I finally posted my introduction post, that's when reality sinked in. Being rewarded for my post is real! That was running through my mind. Engaging with people here I realized, these people are real, and connections are real. I have read the works of professionals and the experienced bloggers. All sorts of people are here - students, teachers, doctors, painters, singers, writers, developers, and all others, I cannot mention everything.

Being on this platform became one of the greatest decision I made in the year 2022. The reality I did not expect to be the best. And for the first time, I found something I love to do - writing / blogging and earning.

Hive becomes part of me

Hive becomes a part of my life. My everyday routines comprise hive engagements. It has become my favorite social media platform to share my experiences, to tell my stories and to create real connections, something I am very hesitant to share with other people from different social media platform because I am afraid of being judged. But here, engagements are real, lifting and helping each other is real. Being open and vulnerable is just alright.

So if I have my cup of coffee to fuel my body I can say, hive is my cup of tea to fuel my spirit.

Having a place to share my thoughts, experiences and even frustrations and disappointments and stresses keep the balance within me.

Things I learned from hive

Hive has taught me great lessons in life. One is in the financial aspect. On hive I learned to wait. I must admit, I tried trading but I always lose because I am impulsive. I haven't mastered the act of waiting and grabbing the perfect timing. But here, I learned the art of waiting. The more I wait, the more I earn. Invest with time. Time is literally gold.

Hive helped me find my niche. Sometimes it's overwhelming to know the people who are very good at what they do. Professional photographers are here, great artists and writers, storytellers, singers or developers and if you compare yourself with them, you feel small and untalented but if you focus on yourself and know where you are good at, you will just be fine. Different people have different audience. Find your audience. There are so many communities here that can help navigate to what you can do best.

And with this... I am grateful of the one year that passed spending a part of my time here. It's a blessing to be part of this wonderful community. And I am counting more years and planned to stay here as long as I can.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading.
