Shiny! This is a special edition of the usual "Fat Pack" box. Let's take a look inside.
The packaging sleeve covers the main card box and a smaller box suitable for dice, tokens, etc.
Not pictured: the card with a security strip.
Inside the box are 10 booster packs, a new oversized spindown die, and some extra lands and promo cards along with the bonus for this box: one of the new "Collector Booster" packs with extra rares and uncommons.
A Fat Pack usually costs about the same as 10 individual packs, but includes a few extras and a handy storage container. Not a bad way to acquire packs in quantity. This gift set was about $5 cheaper than buying the loose packs and the collector booster, so the deal was slightly better than usual, although by no means the cheapest way to get cardboard crack.
I plan to open these boosters soon, but this short post will have to do for today. I completely skipped last week, so at least this is progress of a sort! What do you think of packs and drafting versus just buying singles?
