Lucky little guy

It's been a long time since my last Caturday post.

I don't meet many cats on our walks anymore, and even when I do, some are not very friendly. Probably they are just scared of strangers. The ones who are interested in coming close to me are too excited, so they cuddle around my legs as if there is no tomorrow, and you know, then it's an impossible mission to take a photo of the cat... It seems that I had to find a kitty not on the street but in the home of one of my friends, more precisely, in their shed.

I met this little kitty last week when we were at a friend's birthday party. Quite a lot of guests came and the tables that were placed on the open terrace were slowly filled with delicious snacks. One of the tables was in the sun, so the guys tried to lower the part of the awning that was missing, to protect the food and give shade to the guests too.

To get it to work, they had to open the door of a small wooden shed.

And what did we see inside the shed?

First, a cage with two mice 🐭🐭 running up and down like in a playground, children's toys, some little desks and chairs where the children play and then, on the farthest part of this small wooden construction there was this little Gremlin-like kitty. (Gremlin-like because he has big ears 😁)

Peekaboo... where's the kitty?

There he is!

It is a tiny, little hairy ball with four thin legs, exploring the world of that environment which for him at the moment looks enormous. Here, he looked at his own reflection in the shiny water bowl.

Hello there...

Maybe he wasn't happy with how he looked from that angle, so he tried it from the other side, from a different height - coming out of the litter box.

I think I have already met you...

My friend's daughter found this kitty, abandoned. It was alone and very small, without a mom so they brought it home. They didn't have the heart to leave him on the street, alone and so small. He wouldn't survive... Now he has got a house to climb, a place where to sleep and play, a blanket for a nap, food, water, a litter box and many cuddles - everything a kitty needs.

He is actually a lucky one as my friend's daughter found him; they are already experienced in rescuing cats from the streets... it is her weakness, to bring home abandoned animals. They told me many stories about how she was coming home with cats, little dogs, birds... I was also saving little animals from the street when I was a kid - I remember one small swallow who fell from the nest. I fed him with flies and mosquitoes that we were catching... after some time the neighbours were also asked to catch small insects and bring them to me as I needed them for my new pet. 😁

I know, it is not the same for a so small guy to grow up without his real mom, for many reasons but at least he had the luck to be found by someone who will take care of him. Many others don't get that opportunity, all because the cat/dog owners are not always as responsible as they should be...
