Cada 12 de febrero en Venezuela celebramos con entusiasmo el Día de la Juventud y es que con el tiempo creemos que ya no nos toca celebrar la fecha y, por el contrario, aprendí que la edad es solo un número, mientras tu espíritu esté joven.
Claro con el paso del tiempo nos damos cuenta de que nuestro cuerpo no tiene las mismas capacidades, sobre todo si no nos ejercitamos, pero la actitud ante las actividades diarias nos hacen cambiar todo el panorama.
También entiendo que a cierta edad hay cosas que no solemos realizar porque sentimos que ya no encajamos en algunos lugares y no por eso dejamos de ser jóvenes. Yo recién cumplí 38 años, vaya que es un número elevado para mí, pero en espíritu siento que sigo siendo muy joven como hace tanto.
Every February 12 in Venezuela we celebrate with enthusiasm the Youth Day and with time we believe that it is no longer our turn to celebrate the date and, on the contrary, I learned that age is just a number, as long as your spirit is young.Of course with the passage of time we realize that our body does not have the same capabilities, especially if we do not exercise, but the attitude towards daily activities make us change the whole picture.
I also understand that at a certain age there are things that we don't usually do because we feel that we no longer fit in some places, but that doesn't mean that we are no longer young. I just turned 38, which is a big number for me, but in spirit I feel that I am still as young as I was so long ago.
Claro con el paso del tiempo y las experiencias de la vida me han hecho ser más sensata y alejarme del peligro, aunque a veces esa dosis de adrenalina en cierto modo nos hace rejuvenecernos y no hablo del peligro propiamente dicho, sino de aventuras, el atreverme a hacer cosas que en el pasado no habría hecho, ser más arriesgada pero sin dejar de lado la sensatez.
Decidí lucir mi edad, porque en medio de todo aún estoy joven. Sin embargo, esta fecha la podemos tomar como el día donde reconocemos nuestra juventud, pero a su vez este día quedó enmarcado en nuestras efemérides venezolanas conmemorando a todos los jóvenes que acompañaron a José Félix Ribas y Vicente Campo Elías durante la Batalla de la Victoria en contra de las fuerzas realistas comandadas por el tirano conocido como Boves.
Luego nuestro Libertador Simón Bolívar entregó a José Félix Ribas el título de "Vencedor de los Tiranos", por vencer a nuestros opresores luego de un sangriento enfrentamiento.
Of course with the passage of time and life experiences have made me be more sensible and stay away from danger, although sometimes that dose of adrenaline in a way makes us rejuvenate and I'm not talking about the danger itself, but adventures, daring to do things that in the past I would not have done, being more risky but without leaving aside the wisdom.
I decided to show my age, because in the midst of everything I am still young. However, we can take this date as the day where we recognize our youth, but at the same time this day was framed in our Venezuelan ephemeris commemorating all the young people who accompanied José Félix Ribas and Vicente Campo Elías during the Battle of Victory against the royalist forces commanded by the tyrant known as Boves.
Then our Liberator Simón Bolívar gave José Félix Ribas the title of "Conqueror of the Tyrants ", for defeating our oppressors after a bloody confrontation.
Esta es una historia que hemos estudiado constantemente desde que estamos en la escuela y a su vez nos sirve para reflexionar sobre la importancia y el valor de lucha que realizaron nuestros héroes, donde la juventud jugo un papel muy importante.
En cuanto a la juventud como etapa de vida aprendí sobre la necesidad de aprovechar el tiempo, pues este no da marcha atrás y luego solo nos queda el arrepentimiento de lo que no hicimos.
Porque nuestra vida es por etapas, es muy cierto, pero también me he dado cuenta de que lo que termina envejeciendo es nuestro cuerpo no nuestro espíritu y es un don poder mantener ese espíritu joven en todo momento, sin que nos afecte el paso de los años.
This is a story that we have studied constantly since we are in school and in turn serves us to reflect on the importance and courage of the struggle that our heroes carried out, where youth played a very important role.
Regarding youth as a stage of life, I learned about the need to take advantage of time, because it does not turn back and then we only have the regret of what we did not do.
Because our life is in stages, it is very true, but I have also realized that what ends up aging is our body not our spirit and it is a gift to be able to keep that young spirit at all times, without being affected by the passing of the years.
Tengo una tía quien a pesar de su edad es una persona jovial, optimista e irradia carisma en todo el que se le acerca, ya con muchos nietos y con muchos años de jubilada se mantiene activa constantemente, viaja, baila, se ejercita y a pesar de los años su espíritu se mantiene joven y eso la ayuda a conservarse sana pese a su edad, personas así me inspiran realmente.
Hace poco volví al gimnasio y estaba una señora que en su rostro se reflejaba su avanzada edad, yo le calculo por encima de los 70 años, pero con un cuerpo ejercitado mejor que cualquiera de 20 años, se le ve joven y sana a pesar de sus arrugas, personas como ellas me motivan a seguir sintiéndome joven.
Ya tengo un hijo de 20 años y cuando salgo con él muchos no me creen que soy su mamá, la vida constantemente nos deja muchos aprendizajes y hoy pese a mis kilitos demás o a mis líneas de expresión que ya se hacen evidentes, me siento joven y con muchas ganar de vivir, amar y ver crecer a mis hijos.
I have an aunt who despite her age is a jovial, optimistic person and radiates charisma in everyone who approaches her, with many grandchildren and with many years of retirement she is constantly active, she travels, dances, exercises and despite the years her spirit remains young and that helps her to stay healthy despite her age, people like that really inspire me.
Recently I went back to the gym and there was a lady whose face reflected her advanced age, I estimate her to be over 70 years old, but with a body exercised better than any 20 year old, she looks young and healthy in spite of her wrinkles, people like them motivate me to continue feeling young.
I already have a 20 year old son and when I go out with him many do not believe that I am his mother, life constantly leaves us many lessons and today despite my extra pounds or my expression lines that are already evident, I feel young and with many gains to live, love and watch my children grow.
