Entre mis múltiples intereses, están; la lectura, la jabonería artesanal y la filatelia. La colección que les presento, la reuní hace más de 50 años y aún no termino de clasificarla.
Tal vez mientras se las presento lo logre, aunque el trabajo es arduo.
Por países, por temas o cualquier otro criterio, las posibilidades son enormes.
El caso de este ejemplar solitario, en mi colección, corresponde a un territorio en la península arábiga, parte del país de Omán.
Hoy gracias a Internet resulta fácil averiguar tales detalles, pero en el pasado, había que recurrir a catálogos o enciclopedias en búsqueda de información.
A continuación, el ejemplar con el valor facial más bajo que he visto en sellos.
Remarcado en 20 centésimos (céntimos o centavos de peso) el valor original de 5 milésimos (medio céntimo) nos cuenta una historia de pasada prosperidad, no determino la fecha de impresión, pero calculo que tuvo que ser por 1950 o poco después.
Las primeras páginas de mi álbum contienen, sellos relacionados con el día del sello, la filatelia, el telégrafo y el correo aéreo. Temas relacionados con el pasado que los avances tecnológicos han dejado para la curiosidad y los museos.
Ya no se escriben cartas en papel y el servicio de correos es más un servicio de paquetería, los mismos telegramas ya hace tiempo que solo servían para dejar constancia de notificaciones judiciales.
A través de los sellos se puede conocer la historia y el mundo, en estas pequeñas obras de arte en miniatura que cruzaban el mundo pegadas a sobres que contenían mensajes, sueños, declaraciones de amor o secretos de estado.
Sellos de la década de 1950 hacen referencia a sucesos anteriores, como el centenario del telégrafo 1855-1955 o una imagen del correo a caballo en el siglo XIV.

Los personajes relevantes de la historia son tema frecuente, igual que sucede en las monedas y billetes, en mi colección destacan Simón Bolívar, San Martín, Gandi y en la primera página además de reinas y reyes se encuentra el ingeniero Juan La Cierva, inventor del autogiro, predecesor del helicóptero.

Among my many interests are: reading, handmade soap making and philately. I put together the collection that I present to you more than 50 years ago and I still haven't finished classifying it.
