Yesterday a very important Mass was celebrated in the famous Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba, together with important personalides within the Catholic religion. The members of the Vox Lucis choir were invited to sing there in the accompaniment of this celebration and our answer was an immediate yes.
The Cathedral is a construction that dates back to the XV century approximately, because it was created when the Spanish colonialism founded the town of Santiago de Cuba, in 1515. After several restorations, it is currently one of the most beautiful buildings in terms of architecture. Unfortunately I couldn't take many photos today, but I plan to return to show it better.
However, I did take the time to take selfies with my friends. This time, I made a couple with Marianni (@rivereyesmusic), and also with Elizabeth, a very sweet lady who has been singing in choirs since she was young and who did us the honor of joining us today.
We were asked to sing a song that had not been done for a long time. Under the arrangement and direction of the musician Melvin Rodríguez, our duty was to re-release this work entitled "To the Lord of Mercy". I didn't really know her, so I had to sight sing. I'm actually not very good at doing this, but luckily the piece is quite repetitive and I could easily adapt to the melody.
The ceremony proceeded as usual, and although I am not really a Christian I enjoy when we are invited to such ceremonies, because they are moments of great solemnity.
On the way out we took some photos to update the choir's social networks, and then we all went to have coffee. It was definitely a very nice morning. Until next time!

No obstante, sí me tomé el tiempo de hacerme selfies con mis amistades. Esta vez, hice un par junto a Marianni (@rivereyesmusic), y también junto a Elizabeth, una señora muy dulce que desde joven se ha dedicado a cantar en coros y que hoy nos hizo el honor de acompañarnos.
Nos pidieron que cantáramos una canción que desde hacía mucho tiempo no se hacía. Bajo el arreglo y dirección del músico Melvin Rodríguez, nuestro deber era reestrenar esta obra titulada "Al señor de la misericordia". Yo realmente no la conocía, así que tuve que leer a primera vista la obra. En realidad no soy muy bueno haciendo esto, pero por suerte la obra es bastante repetitiva y fácilmente pude adaptarme a la melodía.
La ceremonia procedió como de costumbre, y aunque en realidad no soy cristiano disfruto cuando nos invitan a este tipo de ceremonias, porque son momentos de gran solemnidad.
