(ENG/ESP) Fanart of Gene Sykon, - Daiku Maryu Gaiking /Fanart de Gene Sykon – El Gladiador.

He estado compartiendo mucho con el fandom al que me uní hace poco, el cual se enfoca en anime de old school.

Quise hacer un fanart de otro de los personajes de la serie para compartir con ellos. Esta vez, dibujé a Gene Sykon.

Gene es el asistente del Dr. Diamond, quien hace las veces de Comandante. Es el encargado de toda la ingeniería del Gran Dragón del Espacio y del robot El Gladiador.

Gene es un genio innato. Podía anticiparse a los resultados de las computadoras y tenía un poder de deducción muy atinado.

Fue capturado por el bando enemigo, Las Fuerzas Negras del Terror, y sometido a un lavado cerebral para controlarlo y de esta forma, vencer al Gran Dragón del Espacio y al Gladiador. Fue un capítulo bastante intenso y con mucha tensión. Gene habría sido un enemigo a temer si hubiese escogido al bando contrario para unir sus habilidades.

Como consecuencia del tratamiento al que fue sometido, su cerebro tuvo un desarrollo acelerado, pero no se especifica posteriormente qué tanto le afectó eso.

A pesar de ser un genio, Gene nunca hacía alarde de sus habilidades. Era bastante reservado y dedicado a sus funciones. El Dr. Diamond siempre confiaba en que sus decisiones estaban basadas en su buen juicio y conocimientos.

Es la primera vez que lo dibujo. Después de Pete Richardson, es mi segundo personaje favorito de esta serie de mechas (robots).

Les comparto el proceso de esta ilustración. Me tomó alrededor de tres horas y media completarla. Me di cuenta que los personajes con rostros alargados como él, Ícaro o Wesley me resultan más difíciles de dibujar que los personajes con rostros redondos o cuadrados. ¡Es un punto para practicar más!

I've been sharing a lot with the fandom I recently joined, which focuses on old school anime.

I wanted to make a fanart of another of the characters in the series to share with them. This time, I drew Gene Sykon.

Gene is Dr. Diamond's assistant, who doubles as Commander. He is in charge of all the engineering of the Great Space Dragon and the robot The Gladiator.

Gene is a natural genius. He could anticipate the results of computers and had a very accurate power of deduction.

He was captured by the enemy side, The Black Forces of Terror, and subjected to brainwashing to control him and thus defeat the Great Space Dragon and the Gladiator. It was a pretty intense chapter with a lot of tension. Gene would have been an enemy to be feared if he had chosen the opposite side to unite his abilities.

As a consequence of the treatment to which he was subjected, his brain had an accelerated development, but it is not later specified how much this affected him.

Despite being a genius, Gene never flaunted his abilities. He was quite reserved and dedicated to his duties. Dr. Diamond always trusted that his decisions were based on his good judgment and knowledge.

It's the first time I draw it. After Pete Richardson, he is my second favorite character in this series of mechas (robots).

I share the process of this illustration. It took me about three and a half hours to complete. I found that characters with long faces like him, Icarus or Wesley are more difficult for me to draw than characters with round or square faces. It is a point to practice more!
