En varios grupos de habla hispana donde participo se ha presentado la conversión sobre el contenido de calidad, sobre todo para hacer referencia a lo que debería promover una ballena con su voto. Si debería votar un contenido en favor de otro, que muchas publicaciones se calidad no obtienen lo que merecen y un largo etc.
Me gustaría hacer una reflexión sobre el tema, ya que no es la primera vez que estas conversaciones surgen de hecho, es muy común en los grupos hablar de ello. Aunque antes de entrar en la reflexión como tal, debemos dejar algo muy claro, que pocos entienden y me parece que es pilar importante para entender todo.
Tener poder de voto es tener dinero invertido, siendo una ballena eres un inversor de la plataforma con un buen capital detrás. A nadie le gusta que otra persona venga a decirte cómo vas invertir tu dinero, eso es algo lógico y normal. Ahora ves que opinar de sus votos no es algo tan simple como la frase de apoyar contenido de calidad.

Voting power is having money invested, being a whale you are a platform investor with a good capital behind. Nobody likes to have another person come and tell you how you are going to invest your money, that is something logical and normal. Now you see that giving your opinion about your votes is not something as simple as the phrase to support quality content.
El dichoso contenido de calidad, es una frase tan idealizada como ambigua. Lo que para ti sea contenido de calidad no lo tiene que ser para mí. A lo mejor para ti, una persona cantando ante una webcam de mala calidad sea arte puro y para mi sea solo contenido de relleno buscando votos.
Todo contenido original tiene su trabajo detrás y eso no lo pongo en duda, pero darle un valor tangible a una publicación no es tan sencillo. Hay muchas variables en juego y una de ellas son los gustos de la ballena. No todo el mundo gusta del arte digital o de la música y ello no significa que estos contenidos sean malos.
Lo que realmente necesitamos son más ballenas activas votando contenido, de manera que todo tipo de contenido tenga la posibilidad de ser votado. Obviamente tener más personas con poder votando no garantiza que te voten, pero sí aumenta las posibilidades.
Debo admitir que también sueño con la posibilidad de tener una ballena de habla hispana, que su idioma nativo sea el español. Quizás pido mucho pero también debo reconocer que existen ballenas que, aunque no hablen nuestro idioma de forma nativa, aportan muchísimo a la comunidad hispana, uno de los que más aporta es theycallmedan.

Quality content is a phrase as idealized as it is ambiguous. What's quality content for you doesn't have to be quality content for me. Maybe for you, a person singing in front of a bad quality webcam is pure art and for me it's just filler content looking for votes.
All original content has its work behind it and I don't doubt that, but giving a publication a tangible value is not so easy. There are many variables at play and one of them is the tastes of the whale. Not everybody likes digital art or music and that doesn't mean that these contents are bad.
What we really need is more active whales voting on content, so that all kinds of content can be voted on. Obviously having more people with power voting does not guarantee that they will vote for you, but it does increase the chances.
I must admit that I also dream of the possibility of having a Spanish-speaking whale, that its native language is Spanish. Perhaps I ask a lot but I must also recognize that there are whales that, although they do not speak our language natively, they contribute a lot to the Hispanic community, one of the most important is theycallmedan.
