Greetings friends of the @throwbackthursday community, here I am again to share with you pleasant moments that remained in the memory and that we relived in this community.

This time I share with you photos of a retreat that my wife @morepina and I did in 2010, at the Trappist monastery located in Humocaro Bajo, a small town located in the highlands of Lara state and an hour from Barquisimeto.

It was a weekend that we attended a couples' meeting to receive useful tools and teachings to maintain a healthy marriage.

We were younger and did not have much experience as members of a family ministry but we were eager to be of service to others who were less fortunate.

It was a beautiful experience because there is an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with the Trappist sisters who are cloistered nuns and assist us in that atmosphere of prayer.

The sisters lead a life of prayer and community work. They cultivate the land and produce what they eat. They celebrate the liturgy of the hours, which are prayers that they pray every day at different times. It is a true life consecrated to God.

The retreats are very favorable for any couple, not only to receive advice to strengthen the marital relationship, but as a recreational activity that allows us to be in contact with nature and away from the city and the noise.

Everything is made to spend a few days of reflection and meditation, because it has beautiful green areas and gardens that help recreation. In addition, the food prepared by the sisters is delicious and very healthy.

The site is open for people to visit and they have rooms for your stay, you just have to book in advance because of the limited space. I hope to repeat that experience someday to recharge and continue to strengthen us as a couple and as a family.

Unfortunately I only got pictures of us posing in the beautiful gardens of the house and did not find any other pictures with more details of the place.

Saludos amigos de la comunidad @throwbackthursday, por acá me encuentro nuevamente para compartirles agradables momentos que quedaron en el recuerdo y que revivimos en esta comunidad.

En esta oportunidad les comparto fotos de un retiro que hicimos mi esposa @morepina y yo en el año 2010, al monasterio Trapense ubicado en Humocaro Bajo, un pueblo pequeño ubicado en la parte alta del estado Lara y a una hora de Barquisimeto.

Fue un fin de semana que asistimos a un encuentro de parejas para recibir herramientas y enseñanzas útiles para mantener un matrimonio sano.

Estábamos más jóvenes y no teníamos mucha experiencia como integrantes de una pastoral familiar pero teníamos muchas ganas de prestar nuestro servicio a favor de otras personas menos favorecidas.

Fue una hermosa experiencia porque allí se respira un ambiente de paz y tranquilidad junto a las hermanas trapenses que son monjas de clausura y nos asisten en ese ambiente de oración.

Las hermanas llevan allí una vida de oración y trabajo comunitario. Ellas cultivan la tierra y producen lo que comen. Celebran la liturgia de las horas que son oraciones que hacen todos los días en diferentes horarios. Es una verdadera vida consagrada a Dios.

Los retiros son muy favorables para cualquier pareja, no sólo para recibir consejos para fortalecer la relación matrimonial, sino como actividad recreativa que nos permite estar en contacto con la naturaleza y apartados de la ciudad y el ruido.

Todo está hecho para pasar unos días de reflexión y meditación, pues posee áreas verdes y jardines muy hermosos que ayudan a la recreación. Además, la comida que preparan las hermanas es deliciosa y muy sana.

El sitio está abierto para que las personas lo visiten y poseen habitaciones para la estadía, solo hay que reservar con tiempo por lo limitado del espacio. Espero volver a repetir esa experiencia algún día para recargarnos y seguir fortaleciéndonos como pareja y como familia.

Lamentablemente solo conseguí fotos de nosotros posando en los hermosos jardines de la casa y no encontré otras con más detalles del lugar.
