Hello friends of Hive and TBT Thursdays, here I am again with you to continue bringing to the present that beautiful nostalgia of past memories that have already become experiences and life lessons for each of us.
Today I continue my journey with my old rock band Teoría Cero and we moved to the beginning of January 2011; an important year to make decisions that would later have a great impact on us as a musical group. It will never be easy to lead a group and live together in it, there will always be differences that will depend on our emotional intelligence, if we solve them or not.
The title of this post gives us something key, since this presentation of the band closed a chapter and opened a new one, a little more complex but necessary for the evolution. Let's start with the video and then let's read what it's all about, so without further ado... Let's Rock! 🤘😎🤘🔥🎙️🎸🎶❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯
Hola amigos de Hive y de los jueves de TBT, por aquí acompañándoles de nuevo para seguir trayendo al presente esa nostalgia bonita de los recuerdos pasados que ya se han convertido en experiencias y aprendizajes de vida para cada uno de nosotros.
Hoy sigo mi travesía con mi antigua banda de rock Teoría Cero y nos trasladamos a inicios de enero del año 2011; un año importante para tomar decisiones que tendrían un gran impacto posteriormente en nosotros como agrupación musical. Nunca será fácil liderar un grupo y convivir en él, siempre habrán diferencias que dependerán de nuestra inteligencia emocional, si las solucionamos o no.
El título de este post nos adelanta algo clave, ya que con esta presentación de la banda se cerró un capítulo y se abrió uno nuevo un poco más complejo pero que era necesario para la evolución. Empecemos con el video y luego leamos de qué trata todo esto que les vengo comentando mediante las fotos a continuación, así que sin más preámbulos vamos... ¡A Rockear! 🤘😎🤘🔥🎙️🎸🎶❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯
Well, let's start with the good side of this post; this show was the first one where we got paid to play and that was great. Remember the organizers of the concert we played at the Concha Acústica and of which I brought you a post? these guys called Arcosombrosis called us to participate with our original repertoire, for them to close the event doing a tribute to the legendary Deep Purple.
We were only 3 bands in a small venue in the city but famous and exclusive for bands of trajectory. Teoría Cero opened the event, then played a heavy metal cover band called Mestizo, who came from another city, and our friends from Arcosombrosis closed the event with their psychedelic rock. The best thing is that we were able to invite a select group of fans and friends, but also new people came in and that motivated us even more. The venue had a capacity for about 50 people, air conditioning, good sound and a bar for alcoholic beverages and food. In this first photo, there were great friends of the band and one of them, without knowing it, became a key piece for what was coming next for the band.
Bien, empecemos por el lado bueno de este post; esta presentación fue la primera en que recibimos un pago por tocar y eso fue genial. Recuerdan a los organizadores del concierto que dimos en la Concha Acústica y del cual les traje un post? estos chicos llamados Arcosombrosis nos llamaron para participar con nuestro repertorio original para luego ellos cerrar el evento haciendo un tributo a los legendarios Deep Purple.
Éramos solo 3 bandas en un local pequeño de la ciudad pero famoso y exclusivo para agrupaciones de trayectoria. Teoría Cero abrió el evento, luego tocó una agrupación que hacía covers de heavy metal llamada Mestizo, que venía de otra ciudad y cerraban nuestros amigos de Arcosombrosis con su rock psicodélico. Lo mejor es que pudimos invitar a un grupo selecto de seguidores y amigos, sin embargo, también entró público nuevo y eso nos motivó aún más. El local tenía una capacidad para 50 personas aproximadamente, tenía aire acondicionado, un buen sonido y una barra para consumir bebidas alcohólicas y comida. En esta 1era foto, estaban amigos grandiosos de la banda y uno de ellos sin saberlo, se convirtió en una pieza clave para lo que venía después para la banda.
My brother had always accompanied us to the concerts, but this time I had the honor of having for the first time, the company of my parents, that made me feel very good and also demanded me more to give the best of me that Friday night for the audience. Want to know what they thought after seeing us play? stay until the end hehehe 😁.
Mi hermano siempre nos había acompañado a los conciertos, pero en esta oportunidad tuve el honor de tener por primera vez, la compañía de mis padres, eso me hizo sentir muy bien y también me exigió más para dar lo mejor de mi esa noche de viernes para la audiencia. Quieren saber que pensaron ellos luego de vernos tocar? quédate hasta el final jejeje 😁.
I put these pictures here because they are the funniest of the night; in the big picture Marco (drummer), his girlfriend and I decided to take a picture but leaving Ruben (bass player) out hahahaha, I know we were bad, but as you can see he was very distracted. The bottom left picture is even funnier, see the guy in the background? he is the boyfriend of the girl who approached my brother for the picture hahaha... things happen. And the last picture is epic, this guy wanted to take a picture with Luis (guitarist) and he stayed in our memories because he enjoyed our presentation a lot. It's worth mentioning that all this happened before we played in case you were wondering.
Estas fotos las coloqué aquí porque son las más chistosas de la noche; en la imagen grande Marco (baterista), su novia y yo decidimos tomarnos una foto pero dejando a Rubén (bajista) por fuera jajajaja, lo sé fuimos malos, pero como ven él estaba muy distraído. La foto inferior izquierda es más cómica aún, ven al sujeto de el fondo? es el novio de la chica que se acercó a mi hermano para la foto jajajaja... cosas que pasan. Y la última foto es épica, este señor se quiso tomar una foto con Luis (guitarrista) y quedó en nuestros recuerdos porque disfrutó mucho de nuestra presentación. Cabe mencionar que todo esto ocurrió antes de tocar por si se preguntaban.
Before talking about the presentation, I wanted to tell you that earlier that day, we were interviewed on the radio and it was mega epic because when a show is on the air you shouldn't say bad words and Luis said many in the interview hahaha... another funny fact is that since I was wearing a bracelet with the logo of the band (made by my mom) they wanted to know if I was inspired by the nazis... obviously not, but there are always coincidences. I still have that bracelet and if you want a closer look, let me know in the comments and I'll show it to you in a photo in the reply. On the other hand, I also used the bracelet that Luisa (the girl in the previous post) had made for the 4 of us, I don't keep that one.
Antes de hablar de la presentación, quería comentarles que ese día más temprano, nos entrevistaron en la radio y fue mega épico porque cuando un programa está al aire no se deben decir malas palabras y Luis dijo muchas en la entrevista jajaja... otro hecho cómico es que como yo llevaba un brazalete con el logo de la banda (hecho por mi mamá) querían saber si me inspiré en los nazis... obviamente no, pero siempre hay coincidencias. Todavía conservo ese brazalete y si lo quieres ver más de cerca, házmelo saber en los comentarios y te lo muestro en una foto en la respuesta. Por otro lado, usé también la pulsera que Luisa (la chica del post anterior) nos había hecho a los 4, esa no la conservo.
Teoría Cero already had very big internal problems with Luis mainly, his behavior in rehearsals and in other contexts was a discomfort for everyone and in this presentation we would make the decision whether to take him out of the band or not based on his performance on stage. We gave him a chance for the next show, but that performance was so depressing that I didn't record it and deleted those pictures years ago, because it wasn't worth it and that's why we consider this as the last performance of the band... and yes, we kicked Luis out of Teoría Cero even though he gave the best of himself this night in particular...
I think that without warning I started talking about the bad part of this post, however I want to point out that the performance was impeccable on every level and everyone, even my parents, enjoyed Teoría Cero that night. I founded the band with Marco, it was a great adventure everything we did the 5 of us together at the beginning and then the 4 of us, but not everything is what it seems, the hardest part of this stage was to stay alone with the name of the band because I ended up fighting with Marco and Ruben and I took them out of the group, I will expand on this in the next post...
Teoría Cero ya tenía problemas internos muy grandes con Luis principalmente, su conducta en los ensayos y en otros contextos era un malestar para todos y en esta presentación tomaríamos la decisión si sacarlo de la banda o no en base a su performance en tarima. Le dimos una oportunidad para el show siguiente, pero esa presentación fue tan deprimente que no la grabé y borré esas fotos hace años, porque no merecía la pena y por eso consideramos esta como la última presentación de la banda... y sí, botamos a Luis de Teoría Cero a pesar de que dio lo mejor de si mismo esta noche en especial...
Creo que sin previo aviso les empecé a hablar de la parte mala de este post, no obstante quiero destacar que la presentación fue impecable a todo nivel y todos hasta mis padres disfrutaron de Teoría Cero esa noche. Yo con Marco fundé la banda, fue una gran aventura todo lo que hicimos los 5 juntos al inicio y luego los 4, pero no todo es lo que parece, la parte más dura de esta etapa fue quedarme solo con el nombre de la banda ya que terminé peleando con Marco y Rubén y los saqué del grupo, esto lo ampliaré mejor en el próximo post...
These guys were a family for me, at present I have contact with two of them, Marco and Luis, I never heard from Ruben; we managed to forgive each other after many years and we could talk before the pandemic, both are outside Venezuela also forging their paths. We achieved in less than a year what bands with more resources and talent did in more time, and we managed to be good emerging artists in the city where we were born. At present I would like to continue with Teoría Cero, but I don't see that possibility possible, recruiting new people won't be easy, I think it would be better to start another project without any doubt hehe.
With this post we culminate the birth of Teoría Cero and we enter into something new; new members and a more consolidated and great sound, will be what you will see here soon. PS: my parents couldn't believe what they saw and heard that night... they congratulated me, they congratulated us... Ouuu Yeahhh!!!
Estos chicos para mi fueron una familia, en el presente tengo contacto con 2 de ellos, Marco y Luis, de Rubén no supe más; logramos perdonarnos luego de muchos años y pudimos hablar antes de la pandemia, ambos están fuera de Venezuela también forjando sus caminos. Logramos en menos de un año lo que bandas con más recursos y talento hacían en más tiempo, y logramos ser unos buenos artistas emergentes de la ciudad que nos vio nacer. En el presente quisiera seguir con Teoría Cero, pero esa posibilidad no la veo posible, reclutar gente nueva no será fácil, creo que mejor será iniciar otro proyecto sin duda alguna jeje.
Con este post culminamos el nacimiento de Teoría Cero y entramos en algo nuevo; nuevos integrantes y un sonido más consolidado y genial, será lo que verán próximamente por aquí.
