I remember that on one occasion our neighbor, who is also a great friend of ours, came and asked my husband and I if we wanted to renew our wedding vows, and since our anniversary is December 20, we told her that this way, it would be a beautiful way to celebrate our 43 years of happy marriage.
Recuerdo que en una ocasión llegó nuestra vecina que además es una gran amiga nuestra y nos preguntó a mi esposo y a mi si queríamos hacer una renovación de votos de matrimonio, y como nuestro aniversario es el 20 de diciembre le dijimos que así, sería una hermosa manera de celebrar nuestros 43 años de feliz matrimonio.
The ceremony took place on December 30, that is, some time after our anniversary, but it was wonderful to be able to celebrate it in this way, with a beautiful mass and a ceremony very similar to that of a wedding, since the marriage vows were reaffirmed.
La ceremonia se llevó a cabo un 30 de diciembre, osea, tiempo después de nuestro aniversario, pero fue maravilloso poder celebrarlo de esta manera, con una preciosa misa y una ceremonia muy parecida a la de una boda, ya que se reafirman los votos matrimoniales
Then we had a simple but beautiful reception with friends and family, with a beautiful cake that had some very funny figures on the top.
Luego tuvimos una sencilla pero bonita recepción con amigos y familiares, con una preciosa torta que tenía unas figuras muy divertidas en la parte superior.
Fortunately our marriage has been wonderful, with ups and downs, obviously, because there are no perfect marriages or families, but we have learned a lot from each other, and in this way we have tried to instill in our daughters the same values that they taught us, but Above all, we have tried to involve love in everything we do.
Afortunadamente nuestro matrimonio ha sido maravilloso, con altibajos, obviamente, porque no existen los matrimonios o familias perfectas, pero hemos aprendido mucho el uno del otro, y de esta manera hemos intentado inculcar en nuestras hijas los mismos valores que nos enseñaron a nosotros, pero sobre todo hemos tratado de involucrar el amor en todo lo que hacemos.
That is why I feel very grateful to God for all the blessings, many people believe that after so many years it is too much for the couple to bear each other, and so they live by customs, on the contrary I can say, for the glory of God, I still love my husband, and for that reason we are happy and we try to get through the difficult times, supporting each other, and celebrating the happy moments, even if it is with a hug.
Por eso me siento muy agradecida con Dios por todas las bendiciones, mucha gente cree que luego de tantos años ya es mucho con que la pareja se soporte, y entonces vive de costumbres, yo por el contrario puedo decir, para la gloria de Dios, que aún amo a mi esposo, y por esa razón somos felices y tratamos de salir adelante en los momentos difíciles, apoyándonos el uno al otro, y celebrando los momentos felices, así sea con un abrazo.
