Well Hivers having got rather sick of squinting at my phone screen while flying my DJI Mini 2.
I decided to do something about it and a bit over I month ago I ordered an iPad Mini to use as a flight screen.
Long story but the first one turned up and it was pre registered to the US military 😳 so no joy with that one well second time lucky while I have been away in Egypt the replacement turned up and all is fine so I’m good to go.
It’s not just a case of slipping the iPad mini on the controller as it’s too wide so first thing first a few 3D prints are needed one to extend the tray.
It also helps to use a support strap as the extra weight can get a bit tedious after a while flying.
And finally a nice sunshade to cut down on reflections.
So there you have it Hivers this Mondays mods big screen and some 3D prints are a huge help with flying.
You may recall I was looking at taking my drone to Egypt but decided not to in the end. Well talking to the Captain on the diveboat while I was away. Well it looks like it was a good decision. He said a had a couple on the the boat a few months ago that were flying one while the had been on the boat and when they returned to port the police turned up and arrested them. The drone got confiscated, they spent a few days in prison and missed their flights home and ended up with a big fine.😱
