Welcome to Felixstowe, hosting the largest container port in the UK!

The shots below are from various parks in the town surrounding it:

First off is a view from the west of the port. The take off location was foreshore (seen in the foreground) which turned out to be deep, thick mud, caution advised!

Next shot is from a park near the centre and is facing north east towards the pier.

Here is another shot from the same location facing south west towards the port (the location of the first picture is off to the far right of this image)

This next location is the closest one can get to the port in terms of takeoff location. (seen to the left of the previous image).

Further left of centre image is a nature reserve and to the north of the port is an RSPB bird reserve. Note: With non compulsory (but advised) liability insurance, one can fly over but I chose to play it safe and observe from a distance.

The final panorma faces west to north east along the coast up towards the pier seen before. The town is littered with caravan parks and industrial areas.

I also had a wander further up the coast to the north to a village called Felixstowe Ferry. As the name suggests, it was named this as it literally ferries cars and people across the river to Bawdsey Manor.

Whilst there, I scouted foreshore areas and found one place safe enough to take off from as again, deep mud was present:
