La palabra desarrollo puede resultar problemática cuando la trasladamos al contexto de las ciencias sociales. ¿De qué hablamos cuando hablamos de desarrollo? Es una pregunta necesaria cuando estamos en presencia de este término.
Recuerdo que en mis tiempos de estudiante universitario, por allá en los años setenta, se formaban grandes debates sobre el tema del desarrollo. Y la mayoría estaba de acuerdo en que la definición era deficitaria puesto que se refería únicamente al desarrollo económico.
Lo que por cierto era totalmente comprensible, puesto que era la forma más fácil de poder medir si una sociedad había alcanzado algún nivel de desarrollo. Se decía entonces que una sociedad era desarrollada, o estaba en “vías de desarrollo”, si tenía un buen ingreso per cápita, bajos niveles de desempleo, buena infraestructura, un equilibrio en sus sectores productivos y parámetros de ese tipo.
Con el correr del tiempo se fue aceptando la necesidad de incorporar otras variables que enriquecieran la idea del desarrollo y se estableció el concepto del “desarrollo humano”, asumido por los organismos internacionales reunidos en Las Naciones Unidas (ONU). En esta nueva caracterización del desarrollo se incluyen aspectos, como esperanza de vida al nacer, niveles educativos, y todos aquellos que tiendan a valorar la posibilidad de que las personas puedan desarrollar plenamente sus potencialidades, contando para ello con las oportunidades necesarias.
Está claro en esta nueva concepción que la posibilidad de que cada ser humano pueda desarrollar plenamente sus capacidades se ve limitada por aspectos como el hambre, la falta de acceso a la educación y a la salud, y la imposibilidad de participar en las nuevas realidades generadas por el internet.
Para esta semana los amigos de @humanitas nos invitan a debatir sobre el desarrollo humano, para ello nos dejan una interesante pregunta relacionada directamente con nuestra casa HIVE: ¿cómo crees qué la plataforma HIVE (más allá del blog), puede transformar vidas y su entorno?
En varias oportunidades he expresado que una de las grandes cualidades de HIVE es que permite explorar y desarrollar talentos que las personas ni siquiera sabían que tenían antes de hacer vida en la plataforma. Para muchos de nosotros HIVE es una gran escuela y un sitio donde nos atrevemos a inventar.
Eso de por sí sería una contribución al desarrollo humano. Todo el que entra a HIVE va mejorando, va creciendo como ser humano. Nuestra comunidad es capaz de generar una sinergia que pone a cada quien en la perspectiva de dar lo mejor de sí, como dicen en estos tiempos: de encontrar su mejor versión.
Pero el impacto de HIVE no es solo a nivel personal, lo que sin duda también contribuye a mejorar los entornos donde se hace vida. También en HIVE se están implementando proyectos e iniciativas para ayudar a mejorar las condiciones de vida de la gente.
Hay proyectos desarrollados por los hivers, y que cuentan con el apoyo de la comunidad, para dotar de agua a comunidades de África y para contribuir a poner en práctica cultivos sustentables, lo que sin duda se traduce en una mejora de las condiciones de vida en esos grupos humanos. En estas publicaciones I II pueden encontrar algo de lo que les estoy hablando.
Son muchas las personas de sitios pobres como Venezuela, Nigeria o Bangladesh, que han mejorado sus condiciones de vida gracias a los aportes generados acá en la Blockchain. Son personas que han podido seguir costeando la educación de sus hijos, y han logrado crear emprendimientos para generar recursos. Sin HIVE no hubiesen tenido la oportunidad de mejorar, eso es una contribución al desarrollo humano.
No soy un gran conocedor de las potencialidades de la Blockchain, apenas soy un creador de contenidos. Pero el diseño de esta web 3.0 contiene posibilidades reales para que los grupos organizados puedan generar proyectos que mejoren sus condiciones de vida. Es cuestión de saberse manejar en las infinitas alternativas que ofrece un proyecto descentralizado como este. El punto fuerte de la tecnología Blockchain, es que al ser descentralizada no tiene límites en las posibilidades de crear proyectos e innovaciones que beneficien a mucha gente.

It is clear in this new conception that the possibility for each human being to fully develop their capabilities is limited by aspects such as hunger, lack of access to education and health, and the impossibility of participating in the new realities generated by the Internet.

On several occasions I have expressed that one of the great qualities of HIVE is that it allows people to explore and develop talents that they didn't even know they had before coming to life on the platform. For many of us, HIVE is a great school and a place where we dare to invent.
That in itself would be a contribution to human development. Everyone who enters HIVE is improving, growing as a human being. Our community is capable of generating a synergy that puts everyone in the perspective of giving the best of themselves, as they say these days: to find their best version.

There are projects developed by the hivers, with the support of the community, to provide water to communities in Africa and to contribute to the implementation of sustainable crops, which undoubtedly translates into an improvement in the living conditions of these human groups.
