Often times I wonder what the world would have looked like if there were no means of communication. I imagine how people would have expressed their feelings emotions and intentions to another person. It would have been so weird because life would just be void of all that is happening like the entertainment expression fun and so on. Communication has played a vital role in the lives of human beings in the sense that, there would be greater challenges amongst people void of communication. Even in our present world, we still find it difficult to communicate because of the different cultural and traditional languages involved take for instance in my country Nigeria thanks to the lingua Franca which is English is would have been extremely difficult to communicate especially in other tribes or ethnic groups.
Pidgin English and English language are the two popularly accepted means of communicating in Nigeria that cut across every tribe and ethnic groups. The pidgin English is also referred to as the creole language, one that breaks down the English language in a simplified method that allows every individual to be able to communicate despite their ethnic groups or their tribes. What is a popular means of communication in Nigeria that has helped people to communicate and break through the backgrounds of illiteracy. This pidgin English is understood by market women who are not versatile in the English language and can allow people communicate and bargain goods and services with people from other cultures.
The big deal with not been able to communicate is the fact that people can use their traditional languages which they know you cannot speak you to seclude you from a conversation. This is a common thing that happens, not to blame any one but people can be so insensitive at time. From experience, it's a very common thing amongst the are I stay in Sabo ora, the compound is made up of indigenes who when they want to relate to you they communicate in English or the pidgin language, but when it comes to sharing vital information or something of benefits, they seclude segregate other tribes.
Gratefully, in our modern world there are different ways to communicate both verbally and non verbally. Each form of these communication has come to serve different purposes to human and their behavioral patters and also to relate with contexts involved. Communication has to do basically with how messages are sent to a recipient, received by the other party and understood by those participants.
In conclusion, behavioral patterns in humans are different but inclusive are the learning and adaptive factors or characteristics that allows the human race to grow and develop.
