La verdad es que quizás pude haber elegido un epitafio más "alegre" o sustancioso, pero creo que este es el que mejor combina con el motivo de este concurso, en torno a Halloween y el día de los muertos, a celebrarse el próximo 2 de noviembre. Sin embargo, a pesar de lo corto de este epitafio, no deja de ser muy sustancioso. En caso de que no lo sepas, un epitafio es esa frase que colocarías en tu lápida o tumba.

"La muerte no es el fin" significa, obviamente, que la muerte no es el fin. Pero la muerte no vista como un fin en sí misma sino como un "medio". Ahora bien, puede sonar absurdo pensar que la muerte sirve como un medio para lograr algo más. Nadie o casi nadie quiere morir intencionalmente solo para lograr "algo" que ni siquiera sabemos qué es, o sin saber lo que encontraremos después de morir. Y es que podría pensarse más bien en la muerte no tanto como un "medio" para lograr algo, sino como el medio, la mitad, de algo.
"La muerte no es el fin sino el medio". Es interesante esta frase ya que puede interpretarse de las dos maneras: la muerte como un medio y la muerte como el medio.
"La muerte como un medio", podríamos verlo como una manera de expresar nuestra finitud como seres mortales. Expresa nuestra relación finita con el tiempo, una existencia breve en toda la historia, Y es una especie de medio por el cual trascendemos de una cosa a otra. Un medio a través del cual la naturaleza se renueva, nuestra biología vuelve al estado mineral.
"La muerte como el medio" es una frase un poco más profunda, ya que implica que la muerte es una frontera entre una cosa y otra. En la primera mitad tienes un tiempo determinado para vivir en este mundo, en la otra mitad estarías en otro "plano". Y lo interesante acá es que muchas veces nuestras acciones en la primera mitad están determinadas por nuestro pensamiento de que buenas acciones nos llevarán a una mejor "vida eterna". Tanto en la religión como en distintas corrientes de pensamiento se ve esto.
Y también es interesante que en ambas frases la muerte se ve como un "Medio", pero en este caso, un medio en el sentido de "ambiente" o lugar ¿La muerte es un lugar?
Perspectiva personal
Dejando un lado los "trabalenguas", no he terminado de decir porqué la muerte no es el fin, desde mi opinión personal. Más que un hecho en sí, esta frase para mi es una especie de recordatorio ¿Cómo quieres ser recordado? ¿Nunca has pensado en eso? "La muerte no es el fin, seguirás existiendo en las mentes de otras personas", "La muerte no es el fin, tus ideas seguirán allí". Creo que parte de esto es precisamente lo que hacemos acá en #Hive.
Nuestro contenido acá quedará aquí para siempre en la blockchain. ¿Qué huella o influencia quieres dejar a los demás? ¿Alguna vez has pensado en ello? Esta frase es una especie de recordatorio de que tus acciones o pensamientos no son algo vacío. Cuando llegue la muerte ya lo que fue fue, y no podrá ser cambiado. Y eso que dejes serás tú.
Así que, más allá de una frase que habla de la muerte. habla de la vida en su máximo esplendor, y te recuerda que la muerte no es el fin, pero tienes un tiempo determinado, finito.
Creo que la razón por la que aún recordamos a ciertas personas es porque dejaron algo. Recordamos a Newton por sus contribuciones a la ciencia, a personajes como Jesucristo o Buda por sus enseñanzas, recordamos a nuestros abuelos y bisabuelos por su huella en nosotros, y aunque haya personas que nadie o casi nadie recuerde, aunque sea algo, hasta lo más mínimo, dejaron. Recordamos a Hitler o asesinos como Jeffrey Dahmer, no por lo malo que hicieron, sino por lo que nos enseñaron. Más allá de juzgarlos, lo cual es lo primero que se nos viene a la mente, vinieron a este mundo a señalarnos algo, algo que no estaba bien, y quizás seguirá habiendo mal en el mundo si nos centramos en juzgar al ejecutor pero ignorar las causas de ese mal.
La verdad esto último no tenía pensado mencionarlo en este post, simplemente surgió. Y es que quizás una de las razones por las que estoy en este mundo es para dar un mensaje. "Ángel", mi nombre, significa "mensajero". Toda mi vida me he sentido movido por tratar de buscar perspectivas diferentes a las cosas, perspectivas más justas y útiles, y tratar de comunicarlas a los demás. A veces los cambios de perspectiva pueden ser incómodos de escuchar para otras personas, pero quizás esa sea una de las cosas que he venido a hacer y dejar al mundo luego de mi finito tiempo acá.
Algunos otros epitafios que elegiría:
•Creó, creó y creó, hasta que dejó de crear.
•Recuerda que eres lo que estás dejando.
•La vida es un esplendor cuando estás consciente de la muerte física.

The truth is that perhaps I could have chosen a more "cheerful" or substantial epitaph, but I think this is the one that best combines with the purpose of this contest, around Halloween and the Day of the Dead, to be celebrated next November 2. Personal perspective
Leaving aside the "tongue twisters", I have not finished saying why death is not the end, from my personal opinion. More than a fact per se, this phrase to me is a kind of reminder. How do you want to be remembered, have you never thought about that? "Death is not the end, you will continue to exist in other people's minds", "Death is not the end, your ideas will still be there". I think part of this is precisely what we do here at #Hive.
Our content here will stay here forever on the blockchain. What footprint or influence do you want to leave on others? Have you ever thought about it? This phrase is a sort of reminder that your actions or thoughts are not an empty thing. When death comes what was was, and cannot be changed. And that which you leave behind will be you.
So, beyond a phrase that talks about death. it talks about life in its maximum splendor, and it reminds you that death is not the end, but you have a certain, finite time.
I think the reason we still remember certain people is because they left something. Sometimes the changes in perspective can be uncomfortable for other people to hear, but perhaps that is one of the things I have come to do and leave to the world after my finite time here.
