CCC's Street Art Contest #205 "Untitled" Brothers of Light, Quinta ...

Good morning, friends!

Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!

Today I bring you the work of the Israeli artist duo known as "Brothers of Light"

This duo started working together in 2014, trying to bring to the world a joint work where pop art is more in focus.

These real-life siblings, Elna Oo (born in 1988) and Gab jt (born in 1991) grew up and lived their early years in Jerusalem as skateboard enthusiasts. Certainly one of their main and earliest influences, in all their work, skateboarding, the theme and the whole atmosphere exude that emotion that they make a point of sharing with other lovers of the sport, as well as those who, like me, only observe it from the outside, and show enormous admiration.

Both studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, and although they share experiences, tastes, familiarities, blood ties and many memories, they decided to take their taste and expression to some of the city's walls, where they showed all their positivity and contagious energy!

Their name, which came from their mother's desire for them to create something positive together, was certainly a good starting point. After her death, they decided to use that name in their projects, paying tribute to her memory.

In their work, we can see some very striking and vibrant art influences!

What can you see in this work? A magic lamp? The ideas everyone has? The hobbies? Walking the dog, dreaming, simply watching the water flow under the bridge, or trying to reach the highest point?

One corner of the work reads "Wish you were here", which I think is a clear reference to the mother who brought them together for this project. In a week of great memories... I'll also leave you with a link to the Pink Floyd song, which never goes out of date.

Hoje trago-vos um trabalho da dupla de artistas Israelitas conhecido como "Brothers of Light"

Esta dupla iniciou o seu trabalho conjunto em 2014, tentando trazer ao mundo um trabalho conjunto onde a arte pop está mais em foco.

Estes irmãos da vida real, Elna Oo (nascida em 1988) e Gab jt (1991) cresceram e viveram os seus primeiros anos de vida em Jerusalem sendo aficionados do skate. Sendo seguramente uma das suas principais e primeiras influências, em todo o trabalho da dupla, o skate, a temática e todo o ambiente transpira essa emoção que eles fazem questão de partilhar com os demais amantes do desporto, bem como dos que, tal como eu, apenas o observam do exterior, e demonstram uma enorme admiração.

Ambos cursaram no instituto de artes - Bezalel Academy of Art and Design - localizado em Jerusalem, e muito embora partilhando de experiências, gostos, familiaridades, laços de sangue e muitas memórias, decidiram levar esse seu gosto e expressão para alguns dos muros da cidade, onde mostraram toda a sua positividade e energia contagiante!

O seu nome, originado da vontade de sua mãe em que criassem algo positivo e em conjunto, foi seguramente um bom ponto de partida. Após a sua morte, decidiram usar esse nome nos seus projectos, fazendo uma homenagem à sua memória.

Nos seus trabalhos, podemos ver algumas influências de arte bem marcantes e muito vibrantes!

O que é que vocês conseguem ver nesta peça? Uma lamparina mágica? As ideias que cada um tem? Os passatempos? Passear o cão, sonhar, simplesmente ver a água passar debaixo da ponte, ou tentar alcançar o ponto mais alto?

Num dos cantos do trabalho, pode ler-se "Wish you were here", o que para mim me parece que é uma clara referência à mãe que os uniu para este projecto. Numa semana de grandes memórias... Acabo por também vos deixar um link da música dos Pink Floyd, que nunca se torna desactualizada.
