Last weekend, Mural Festival announced its program for this June after two difficult years, especially in 2020. So I take this opportunity to show you the different versions of the main wall of the festival. This year, the main place of the festival is changing (new construction planned on this parking lot), so the rooster of Jerry Rugg aka BirdO might stay there a few more months. As the post goes on, we'll go back in time to (re)discover the different versions of this wall.
Le weekend dernier, Mural Festival a annoncé sa programmation pour ce mois de juin après deux années difficiles, surtout en 2020. Alors je profite de cette occasion pour vous montrer les différentes versions du mur principal du festival. Cette année, le lieu principal du festival change de place (nouvelle construction prévue sur ce parking), alors le coq de Jerry Rugg aka BirdO risque de rester encore là quelques mois. Au fur et à mesure du post, on va reculer dans le temps pour (re)découvrir les différentes versions de ce mur.

As I said in the introduction, the Mural Festival is back in force this year with about 20 invited artists including the American Shepard Fairey aka Obey, hyper known especially for his poster Hope with Obama's head in 2018. On the music side, 13 concerts are scheduled. It'll be good to get back to the festive atmosphere after 2 rather quiet years.
Comme je le disais en introduction, le Mural Festival revient en force cette année avec une vingtaine d'artistes invités dont l'américain Shepard Fairey aka Obey, hyper connu surtout pour son affiche Hope avec la tête d'Obama en 2018. Du côté musique, 13 concerts sont prévus. Cela va faire du bien de retrouver l'ambiance festive après 2 années plutôt calmes.
One of my favorite work on this wall done in 2019 by the duo PichiAvo (Street Art #215). But, Obey will not paint this wall because the festival is moving further south still on Saint Laurent boulevard but closer to Sainte Catherine street in the Quartier des Spectacles. An exhibition of his new creations is also planned at the Galerie S16 which has also moved further west in Montreal. Unfortunately the boulevard Saint Laurent aka The Main has lost some of its prestige with the Covid
Un des mes murs préférés fait en 2019 par le duo PichiAvo (Street Art #215). Par contre, Obey ne refera pas ce mur car le festival se déplace plus au sud toujours sur le boulevard Saint Laurent mais plus près de la rue Sainte Catherine dans le quartier des Spectacles. Une exposition de ses nouvelles créations est aussi prévue à la Galerie S16 qui a aussi déménagé plus à l'ouest de Montréal. Malheureusement le boulevard Saint Laurent aka The Main a perdu un peu de prestige avec la Covid.

In the other invited artists, we find the Franco-Algonquin visual artist Caroline Monnet who will realize her first mural with a work in black and white. I am curious to see the final result. There is also the Belgian artist Caratoes whose murals on his Instagram are superb, the American Mando Marie, the Belgian Vess and the Brazilian VJ Suave for the international part.
Dans les autres artistes invités, on retrouve l'artiste franco-algonquine Caroline Monnet qui va réaliser sa première murale avec une œuvre en noir et blanc. Je suis curieux de voir le résultat final. Il y aussi l'artiste belge Caratoes dont les murales sur son Instagram sont superbes, l'américaine Mando Marie, le belge Vess et le brésilien VJ Suave pour la partie internationale.
In 2017, Ricardo Cavolo painted the wall... but I couldn't find any photos of the finished work.

There are also some local artists like Dalkhafine, a French artist who has been in Montreal for a few years now, Olivier Bonnard, Marc-Olivier Lamothe, Awie, [Aliendope](https://www. instagram.com/_aliendope/), Drew Young from Vancouver, Danaé Brissonnet (always great walls, see Street Art Contest #084) and finally from Ontario Burnt Toast and Hate Copy. The 10th edition of the festival Mural will take place from June 9th to 19th around Saint-Laurent boulevard. Perfect week to visit Montreal. Can't wait for June... 😀

I couldn't find anything for 2015. I don't remember if there was a new mural that year or I went on vacation and missed that edition. But in 2014, it was the turn of Kashink, French artist.
Je n'ai rien trouvé pour 2015. Je ne me rappelle plus si il y a eu une nouvelle murale cette année là ou je suis parti en vacances, et j'ai raté cette édition. Mais en 2014, ce fut le tour de Kashink, artiste française.
