Street Art #339 Scribe, Montreal

Today, we're going to see some works done by Scribe, figurative works... Generally, I know him more for his letterings, pretty cool by the way. But last fall, on Duluth avenue, he done some works with some characters in weird universe, rather pessimistic in my opinion but I leave it to you to judge :

Alley between Saint Andre and Mentana. This work was unfinished in this photo but the next time I passed by, the building was being demolished 😕. But you can see the final result on the Scribe website.

WHERE

On Duluth Avenue, Montreal, Canada.

WHO

Scribe is a self-taught street artist, member of the CSX crew, with roots in France and Spain. Now based in Montreal, he appropriates the walls to reveal their poetry. His works are placed where people don't look, he prefers the sensitive rather than the obvious.

"Écrire - Escribe - Write"

Just the other side of the road, weird characters too with this hand holding a skull and a heart with legs... Odd imagination !

Scribe is more a writer but he does some figurative works as you can see in this post.

Another mural just behind Le Livart, an alley worth to visit if you like Street Art, many works (Labrona, Kevin Ledo, Zen, Zoltan... you can see it on Street Art #299)

And the weirdest but the most interesting at eastl, two works next to each other, full of characters and detais and always in this universe, criticism of today's society :

The Scream, even the planet Earth seems to escape of this crazy world.

I just noticed that I didn't take a picture of the whole, only of the works and some details.

We go to the paradisiacal beach in an all inclusive without seeing the political and social situation of the country and the ecological impact. In Canada in winter, beach vacation in countries such as Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico are very popular, escaping the cold and snow.

On closer look, it's a criticism of today's society, consumption above all without concern for nature until its destruction, like these elephants and giraf pushed by a bulldozer. And about tourism,

What do you think about this works ? Pretty cool when Street Art makes you think...
