After Street Art #310, another post about Madame Gilles, very active or I was lucky to find many of her paste-ups 😀. Whatever the cause, I hope it will continue because hers work is really very interesting and beautiful :

Exactly on a house repainted by the artist Zilon during the 2014 Mural Festival. There is nothing left of this mural (you can see it on the Mural Festival website) except maybe the silver color used as a background.

WHO

Madame Gilles is an visual artist based in Montreal. Since her beginnings, she has had a special interest in Pop Art and especially Andy Warhol and Jean- Michel Basquiat. After studying Graphic Art in Montreal, she became interested about Street Art. The artist Shepard Fairey aka Obey has a big influence on her work.

Two works with some torn paste-ups done by Laurence Belanger, the beetles finely drawn in black and white. We often find the works of these two artists side by side but I don't know if they work together to paste them together.

Madame Gilles uses often the same format mixing shapes and photos, playing with repetition to create an absolutely incredible graphic paste-ups.

On the same building, around a door made by Jamie Janx with the bird, we find 3 other paste-ups.

I'll have to do another post because she's such a creative artist with quality works that I appreciate a lot. And last fall, I found another spot with many new paste-ups.
