Welcome Splinters!

The time has come to share our opinion and knowledge regarding a specific Splinterlands card, for one of the weekly challenges we have available, here, we can comment in a very cool and dynamic way about it.

This week's choice is NERISSA TRIDAWN, which here I will present the positive and negative points, as well as what I think about investing in her and of course, a replay showing how we can use her full potential in the field of battle.

NERISSA TRIDAWN

In case you don't remember who she is, here's an image showing all her strength and "delicacy", of course this is a joke, because in reality, our warrior is strong and powerful and certainly is the type that doesn't need of protection:

image.png

We can clearly see that she has a large physical size, which I believe matches her attributes, which, from the base level, are very high. Obviously with its high mana cost and lack of skills, something has to be compensated for, doesn't it?

image.png

So, making its presentation official, its element is water, it has epic rarity and its type of attack is magic, at its base level, as said, it has insane attributes, with 3 points of attack, 2 of speed and 9 of life .

With this, we can already see that its health and its attack are super strong points, making it a great unit to summon, with a role orientation between holding damage (resistance) and applying damage (attacker) being this one, directly in the opponent's life.

The strategy I usually use is very simple: leave her alive and apply as much damage as possible. I usually place it in one of the last three positions, depending on how the battle will be, that is, from the third to the sixth position.

I notice in its weaknesses, in my opinion, the high cost of mana, the low speed and the lack of a shield to protect against physical damage, but all of this can be easily solved, using the summoner KELYA FRENDUL and the VENARI WAVESMITH and SUPPLY RUNNER units, for example.

What? Is the lack of skills not a weakness? I don't think so, because as I've mentioned a few times in my posts, cards that don't have skills usually have a bonus on their attributes, making them strong for this reason.

Worth the investment?

So, is it worth investing in NERISSA TRIDAWN to make one-off purchases? Well, we have an interesting point to analyze, looking at the graph, filtered by 60 days, we can see that its value came from a fall and after that it started to increase, until it reached $1.59 per 1 BCX unit.

Chart taken from MonsterMarket:

image.png

Commenting on this part, using my career as an example and the average HBD values I earn in the posts, I can say that it is worth investing in it, but in this case, it will be one of the last cards I will focus on for this.

As my goal is currently to level up cards to avoid point penalties, it doesn't pay for me at the moment to focus on leveling up just one card, as my resources are limited. So for me it's better to invest that amount of $1.59 for a unit in other cards, such as common or rare ones.

I can say that with that amount, I managed to raise 2 to 3 common cards to level 5, of course they were the cheapest of 1 or 2 cents, explaining a little better:

From level 4 to 5, there are 30 cards, so the card at $0.01 * 30 = $0.30 cents, with $1 we could raise three cards to level 5:

image.png

So, this is my opinion, because it is a very strong card, we can use NERISSA TRIDAWN at level 1 and accept the points penalty, while I improve other cards. After this process of raising the cheapest units, it will finally be NERISSA!'s turn.

Battle

Entering our final part, which is the battle, I was lucky to get only two rules in this confrontation, and they are: choose only cards with odd cost and the BLAST ability for everyone:

image.png

With 38 mana and the elements water, life and death available, I didn't think twice about using the element that I like the most and identify with the most, the water element, being one of the strongest in this edition in my opinion.

Team

Due to the rules, my options were limited to odd cards and there was still the fact that the opposing team would have explosions, with that, I thought a little, taking advantage of the time we had and assembled the following team:

equipe.png

  • LEMELL REFUGEE: An interesting option because it has the VOID skill (magical attacks hit the armor), so it would have a little protection against any type of attack coming from the opponent, so I chose it as my tank in this match.

  • TIDE BITER: Its differential besides REACH, which allows you to attack from the second position, was its REFLECTION SHIELD, which completely nullifies the damage coming from the explosions of BLAST.

  • FAIRBANDIT: High speed plus FLYING skill and it's always good to have someone with SNEAK to focus on the other team's rear.

  • NERISSA TRIDAWN: Our special card, I left it in this position to try to stay as protected as possible, while applying damage directly to the opponent's health.

  • VENARI WAVESMITH: It has a reasonable magic attack, but its PROTECT skill was the big differential for its choice, as it would help protect everyone on the team.

  • AXEMASTER: Finally, being able to attack twice and cause a total of 4 damage per round, whenever possible I choose this unit to cause a lot of damage to the opponent.

So let's go!

Round 1

After the bonus preparation phase, the teams started as shown in the image below, taking advantage of the PROTECT skill, my LEMELL REFUGEE, would be able to hold the damage for at least this first round.

image.png

TIDE BITER also had a big highlight, being a kind of second shield, protecting the rest of the team from the explosions, while the damage was applied.

Round 2

Incredibly LEMELL REFUGEE survived, so the whole combination of skills and lineup worked, as my team was practically intact, while the opponent had already lost one unit and the second was already very weakened.

image.png

A good example of why to use NERISSA TRIDAWN, can be seen below, where it inflicts 3 damage on its target and due to the explosion, it defeats an opponent with a shield, but the magic damage for directly hitting life , defeat that adjacent unit:

monstro_png.png

Here I already realized that it was a great choice for her on the field!

Round 3 - Final

Arriving at the end, my opponent's battle strength was already weakened and now there's nothing left to do, victory was imminent for me!

The replay with all the details can be seen HERE!

Finishing

This was my way of showing how powerful NERISSA TRIDAWN is and how her attack power can influence the course of battle in our favor. Examples abound, but that's for next time.

I'm also happy that my strategy worked and that helped my units survive and, as a consequence, win the victory!

That is all! Thank you all and until the next post!

Bem-Vindos Splinters!

Grafico retirado do MonsterMarket:

image.png
