Tunisian Symphony Orchestra 😊

Tunisian Symphony Orchestra is the national symphony orchestra of Tunisia, based in Tunis. The orchestra was established in 1969 by the Ministry of Culture. It was led by Ahmed Achour from 1979 until 2010, when after falling ill, he was replaced by Sem Slimane.

50 years of hard working and many challenges made this orchestra a real source of inspiration for great creations, wide collaborations and various trainings on the Tunisian music landscape. In 2017, with the help of the Tunisian-Russian mezzo soprano Emira Dakhlia, the OST founded its own amateur choir.

Very aware about its important cultural and social role, and eager to ensure the continuity of its activities, the new artistic direction of the Tunisian Symphonic Orchestra launched a project of orchestral training for young musicians, namely "The Academy of the Tunisian Symphonic Orchestra " under the direction of Fadi Ben Othman.
