Les presento algunos de mis cactus y suculentas // Here are some of my cacti and succulents

¡Hola amigos! Me pasó por acá para compartirles algunos de mis cactus y suculentas. Esta es la colección, por llamarla de alguna manera, que tengo adentro de casa, al lado de una ventana espaciosa; allí se mantienen bien. Una vez que van creciendo las voy pasando a macetas más grandes afuera, o las reproduzco y pasó las partes más grandes a otra maceta así estás quedan chiquitas.

Hello friends! I stopped by to share with you some of my cacti and succulents. This is the collection, so to speak, that I have indoors, next to a spacious window; they keep well there. Once they grow I move them to bigger pots outside, or I reproduce them and move the bigger parts to another pot so they stay small.

Mi primera planta de esta especie fue una que la apode como Orejitas, quiero aclarar que no tengo idea de los nombres reales de estas plantas pero a veces les pongo apodos según su apariencia. Esta llegó a mi vida en el año 2016. Después fueron llegando todas las demás.

My first plant of this species was one that I nicknamed as Orejitas, I want to clarify that I have no idea of the real names of these plants but sometimes I give them nicknames according to their appearance. This one came into my life in 2016. After that, all the others arrived.

Acá la pueden observar, se mantiene modesta. Cada primavera/verano da brotes nuevos y otros se van secando. La elegí porque me llamó la atención de todas las que vi en ese entonces. Es bonita, aunque tengo que destacar algo en contra que tiene y es sus espinas chiquitas que se van soltando y se posan en cualquier parte, lo que hace que cada tanto te termines clavando alguna sin darte cuenta.

Here you can see it, it remains modest. Every spring/summer it gives new buds and others dry up. I chose it because it caught my attention of all the ones I saw at that time. It is beautiful, although I have to point out something against it and that is its small thorns that come loose and land anywhere, which means that every now and then you end up sticking one of them without realizing it.

Después está esta otra que ya la tendría que cambiar de maceta porque esa le queda pequeña. La planta madre es la del centro, la que sobresale. Los otros son todos hijitos que le fueron saliendo.

Then there is this other one that I would have to change the pot because it is too small. The mother plant is the one in the center, the one that stands out. The others are all offspring that came out of it.

Esta otra la tengo hace bastante tiempo y nunca había dado hijos hasta hace 2 años que empezó. Ya planté uno chiquito que se cortó solo y ahora está creciendo afuera.

I have had this other one for quite some time and it had never had any offspring until 2 years ago when it started. I planted a small one that cut itself and now it is growing outside.

Esta se la regaló mi hermano a mi mamá. También era pequeña y creció un montón, se hizo muy alta. Crece para arriba. A mi mamá le regalan plantas pero siempre las termino cuidando yo, esto es tema aparte jajaja.

This one was given to my mom by my brother. It was also small and grew a lot, it became very tall. It grows upwards. My mom gets plants as gifts but I always end up taking care of them, this is a separate issue hahaha.

Estas parecen florcitas, son lindas para darles forma. También trato de mantenerla pequeña. Tengo su versión más grande afuera y a esa la dejo crecer cuánto quiera. Debo decir que es una de mis suculentas favoritas.

These look like little flowers, they are nice to shape. I also try to keep it small. I have its larger version outside and that one I let grow as much as I want. I must say it is one of my favorite succulents.

Estas fueron un regalo de una vecina, nos dio unos hijitos de su planta hace un año más o menos. Al principio no crecían pero seguían manteniéndose bien. Ahora están un poco más altos y empezaron a dar más brotes a los costados. Me hacen acordar un poco a la planta de Áloe Vera, nada más que versión atigrada por las rayas blancas.

These were a gift from a neighbor, she gave us some offspring from her plant about a year ago. At first they didn't grow but continued to hold up well. Now they are a little taller and have started to sprout on the sides. They remind me a little bit of the Aloe Vera plant, except for the black version with the white stripes.

Ahora pasemos a las últimas adquisiciones. Las que todavía no tienen un año en casa.

Now let's move on to the latest acquisitions. The ones that are not yet a year old at home.

Esta pequeña con su buda, fue un regalo para mi mamá. No es budista pero le gustan y aparte el mensaje que trasmite es muy lindo: la madera en la que están apoyados dice salud y la maceta dice calma. A la planta la apode orejita de Shrek, porque tienen esa forma, ¿no les parece?
Es la primera vez que veo esta forma en una de estas plantas. Por eso la elección, como tenemos muchas, la persona que hizo el regalo eligió una rara para asegurarse de que no la tuviéramos.

This little girl with her buddha was a gift for my mom. She is not a Buddhist but she likes them and besides, the message they transmit is very nice: the wood they are leaning on says health and the pot says calm. I nicknamed the plant Shrek's ear, because they have that shape, don't you think?
It is the first time I see this shape in one of these plants. That's why the choice, as we have many, the person who made the gift chose a rare one to make sure we didn't have it.

En un cumple de 15 años que tuvimos en octubre nos dieron de souvenir está macetita rosa con su plantita. Nos tocó esta que está bien bonita. Tuve una parecida, aunque la hoja era más fina.

For our 15th birthday in October we got this little pink pot with its little plant as a souvenir. We got this one, which is very pretty. I had a similar one, although the leaf was thinner.

Y por último, otra vez la vecina nos trajo un hijito de una de sus plantas y lo puse en esta taza de Bob Esponja que no se usa y queda muy linda. Fue hace poco, así que espero que se prenda bien y sobreviva.

And last but not least, again the neighbor brought us a baby from one of her plants and I put it in this unused SpongeBob mug and it looks very cute. It was just recently, so I hope it catches on well and survives.

Bueno eso es todo por hoy, en otra ocasión les muestro las que tengo en el patio. Algunas de esas están con flores. Allí les dan más sol y florecen bastante. Hay una que no dejó de sacar flores desde que empezó diciembre, y así va a seguir hasta que termine el verano.

Well that's all for today, another time I'll show you the ones I have in the yard. Some of those are in bloom. There they get more sun and bloom a lot. There is one that hasn't stopped blooming since the beginning of December, and it will continue to do so until the end of the summer.
