Re-Cap of This Past Sunday Service At First Love Church : Lovely Sunday Service

Sundays are very special days in the life of every Christian. It is a day the Lord Himself has set aside for every Christian to worship Him. This can be found in the book of Genesis where the Lord after creation rested on the Seventh Day and declared that, we do not work on this very day, that it should be dedicated to Him.

As believers, we need to adhere to this commandment. It comes with lots of blessings and many other divine gifts.

I am an Assemblies of God member but I have joined the First Love Church. I join them whenever I am on campus.
When I arrived on campus, I just decided to find a good church to join. I don't believe in what type of church I found myself, all I look for is the doctrines of this church. As far as it is in accordance with the Bible, I am okay with it.

I believe God is everywhere and also believe He is not a one way God hence, delights in the varieties of worship.

This past Sunday being a special day for every Christian, I was not not exempted. I went to the house of the Lord to give him the needed attention, of which I want to share with you my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

The church commenced with an opening prayer as usual. It was a powerful one lead by brother Edem. He is the choir leader as well. He does so well, he is very anointed. Looking at how he dedicates his time and resources to the work of God.

The opening prayer was followed by Praise and Worship which was also lead by same brother Edem. It was done for 20 minutes then Praises team took over.

It was lead by Sister Poka, she has a very melodious voice. She sung very well. I was very moved by her ministrations. She did very well. I danced and danced till I had no dance moves to offer.

We then took our first offering. That was a quick one. It didn't take even up to 5 minutes to finish taking.

Now it was time for the various ministrations to perform. These ministrations includes, the Singing Stars, The Dancing Stars, The Filming Stars, The Choir, Special Ministrations by Individuals, and finally Testimonies.

It was the Singing Stars that performed. It was lead by Sister Deladem. She is a very powerful singer. She did well. It was climaxed by The Choir, then we moved to the most important aspect of the day which is the word from the man of God.

THE PREACHER MAN DELIVERING A SERMON

He took over and delivered the undiluted Word Of God to us. Permit me to share this powerful message with you in the nest few paragraphs.

THEME: HOW TO PRAY FOR THE WILL OF GOD

SPRIPTURES : Mathew 26: 35-43...................

NEW KING JAMES VERSON (NIV)

35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.

Gethsemane...
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”

43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy.

44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

From the Bible Verse we just read, the preacher man made us understand that, the Will Of God is the manual for our life on earth and it is very important to know the will of God concerning our life so we can walk in it. Its just like going to buy an electronic gadget from the market and not taking a manual for it usage. You can just imagine how you will straggle to operate it. You might even end up destroying it.

Hence it is very necessary to ask God for His will concerning our life so that we don't mess up our life walking in our own will.

This can be seen in the verse where Jesus Christ has gone to mountains to Pray. He was so heavy and so sorrowful. That was when He prayed to the Father that if it possible, He should allow this painful death pass Him by but if it is His Will, then may it be done.

This means that God knows what is best for His children and His will concerning our life is final. What we think is good and perfect for us is not what He want or wish for us. He does the perfect and good things for His children. We can see that, when Jesus was praying for this painful death to pass Him by, His Heavenly Father knows that, that is what will bring Him the Glory. Although, He allows us to pass through certain temptations and trails, we are always rewarded with the crown of victory when we do not fall for them.

Knowing the will of God concerning our life is the best way to walk in Him until eternity. That way, we can always be under His feet and serve Him very well.

He also made mention of four ways we can activate or know His Well.

  1. Pray for the Will of God concerning our life or else we will never get to know.

  2. Pray that His will be done even though we have the revelation or know His Will concerning our life.

  3. Pray without seizing for His Will concerning our life.

  4. Pray for hours concerning His will in our life or else it might not happen.

This is where I bring the Preacher mans sermon to an end. I learnt a lot from this past Sunday service and hope someone learnt something from it as well.

We then took communion and had our closing prayers.

Prayer;
MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

Amen.
