We thank God for another opportunity to share what l learnt from the 4th day of mass indoctrination with Bro Eli.I learnt that prayer is not about telling stories.

PRAYER IS NOT STORY TELLING

Prayer is not story telling as said by Brother Eli or Just reciting some words.Prayer is making a request to God for something.
Hear what the bible says

Philipians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

From the above scripture, the Bible state it clearly that prayer is about making request to God with thanksgiving.

The need for thanksgiving

When we have faith that , our requested will be granted ,I learnt that ,we need to give thank before recieving .

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

WHEN SHOULD WE PRAY

People pray when they found themselves in serious problems and are in serious needs ,especially when they are sick, when some promises needs to be establish ,money ,healing or when they are in difficult situation. They will be praying always seeking freedom from God but Immediatly all the issues are over they forget to even mention the name of God.

Paul wrote

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing.

We should pray every moment, every time ,morning ,afternoon ,evening ,when we are down or when we are happy .

2 Timothy 1 : 3 I

thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

HOW CAN WE BE SURE IF OUR PRAYERS WILL BE HEARD BY GOD

I learnt that God does not hear sinners, therefore for us to be sure our prayers will be heard ,we need to have ;

Pure heart

1 peter 3: 10-12

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

When our mouth are free from speaking immoral words and we walk in pure heart ,there is an assurance that God will hear us. Our heart can be pure when we keep the word of God in our heart.Thinking about it day and night.

Psalm 119: 11

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Lets place the word of God in our heart for out of the heart ,that is where all the worldly desires flows from and for our prayers to be heard we need such a clean heart .Let come to God with a pure heart.
