Going out to battle in the name of the Lord is already an assured victory, even when the result of the battle is not as expected.
And the Philistine came walking and approaching David, and his armor bearer before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he thought little of him; for he was a boy, and blond, and handsome to look at. 43 And the Philistine said to David: Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks? And he cursed David by his gods. 44 Then the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the field. 45 Then David said to the Philistine: You come to me with sword and spear and javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have provoked. 46 The Lord will deliver you into my hand today, and I will defeat you, and I will cut off your head, and I will give the carcasses of the Philistines today to the birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth; and all the earth will know that there is God in Israel. 47 And all this congregation will know that Jehovah does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will deliver you into our hands.
And it came to pass that when the Philistine arose and began to walk to meet David, David hastened, and ran to the line of battle against the Philistine. 49 And David putting his hand into the bag, he took a stone from there, and slung it, and struck the Philistine on the forehead; and the stone was stuck in his forehead, and fell on his face to the ground.

In the picture of the battle of David and Goliath, more than a battle between nations, it has been a test of trust, a challenge to trust in God, a show of faith to all those who doubted the power of God.
Imagine that The King doubted David's victory, Goliath being an experienced warrior and David a young shepherd, inexperienced. How could he have the victory humanly speaking? David was very clear that victory can only be in name of the Lord.
David added: Jehovah, who has delivered me from the lion's claws and from the bear's claws, he will also deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David: Go, and the Lord be with you.

David faced Goliath coming out in defense of the Lord's army, in his name. In this picture the inexperienced, the weak is the one who triumphs, humanly it is impossible, perhaps we thought that this would never happen to us, David has come out in defense of God, victory was certain in the name of the Lord regardless of the outcome of the battle.
And all this congregation will know that Jehovah does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and he will deliver you into our hands.

Salir a la batalla en el nombre del Señor ya es una victoria asegurada, aún cuando el resultado de la batalla no es el esperado.
Y el filisteo venía andando y acercándose a David, y su escudero delante de él. 42 Y cuando el filisteo miró y vio a David, le tuvo en poco; porque era muchacho, y rubio, y de hermoso parecer. 43 Y dijo el filisteo a David: ¿Soy yo perro, para que vengas a mí con palos? Y maldijo a David por sus dioses. 44 Dijo luego el filisteo a David: Ven a mí, y daré tu carne a las aves del cielo y a las bestias del campo. 45 Entonces dijo David al filisteo: Tú vienes a mí con espada y lanza y jabalina; mas yo vengo a ti en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de los escuadrones de Israel, a quien tú has provocado. 46 Jehová te entregará hoy en mi mano, y yo te venceré, y te cortaré la cabeza, y daré hoy los cuerpos de los filisteos a las aves del cielo y a las bestias de la tierra; y toda la tierra sabrá que hay Dios en Israel. 47 Y sabrá toda esta congregación que Jehová no salva con espada y con lanza; porque de Jehová es la batalla, y él os entregará en nuestras manos.
Y aconteció que cuando el filisteo se levantó y echó a andar para ir al encuentro de David, David se dio prisa, y corrió a la línea de batalla contra el filisteo. 49 Y metiendo David su mano en la bolsa, tomó de allí una piedra, y la tiró con la honda, e hirió al filisteo en la frente; y la piedra quedó clavada en la frente, y cayó sobre su rostro en tierra.

En el cuadro de la batalla de David y Goliat mas que una batalla entre naciones ha sido una prueba de confianza, un desafío a la confianza en Dios, una muestra de fe a todos quienes dudaban del poder de Dios.
Imagina que El Rey dudaba de la victoria de David, siendo Goliat un guerrero experimentado ente David un joven pastor, inexperto ¿Cómo podría tener la victoria humanamente hablando?, David tenía bien claro que la victoria solamente puede ser en nombre del Señor.
Añadió David: Jehová, que me ha librado de las garras del león y de las garras del oso, él también me librará de la mano de este filisteo. Y dijo Saúl a David: Ve, y Jehová esté contigo.
1 Samuel 17:37
David se enfrentó ante Goliat saliendo en defensa del ejercito del Señor, en su nombre. En este cuadro el inexperto, el débil es el que triunfa, humanamente es imposible, quizás nosotros pensamos que esto nunca nos sucedería, David ha salido en defensa de Dios, la victoria era segura en el nombre del Señor independientemente del resultado de la batalla.
Y sabrá toda esta congregación que Jehová no salva con espada y con lanza; porque de Jehová es la batalla, y él os entregará en nuestras manos.
