We want to receive the best blessings but we do not consider the decisions we make, the results we have today are according to the decisions we have made in the past, any choice, no matter how insignificant it may seem, can generate a profound change in the future.
Now it happened that Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God. 2 And he saw two boats standing by the shore of the lake, and the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets. 3 And he got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and begged him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the crowd from the boat. 4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." 5 Simon answered and said to him, "Master, we have toiled all night and have caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the net." 6 When they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 Then they signaled to their companions who were in the other boat to come and help them; and they came and filled both boats, so that they were sinking. 8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Depart from me, Lord; I am a sinful man." 9 For fear came upon him and all who were with him because of the catch of fish they had made, 10 and also upon James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's companions. But Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

Most of the time God asks us for very simple things that seem insignificant to us and we overlook them, we think: "This is not so important, I don't need to do it," but we forget that these small decisions are a small step to something much bigger. Let's remember Peter in the previous passage, a simple decision for what the Lord had asked of him radically changed his whole life, he went from being a fisherman to a fisher of men.
5 Simon answered and said to him, Master, we have worked all night and have caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.

This picture shows us the result of a very exhausting night of work, but unproductive work, that is to say: Peter did not feel like continuing like this, but even so he accepted the words of the Lord and moved the boat so that the crowd could hear the words of Jesus. After this, the Lord asked Peter to go out to much deeper waters (according to Peter and his experience, it was NOT the right time). Peter's obedience, the decision to listen and do according to what Jesus asked him, even when Peter was very tired and frustrated, even though Peter knew that what the teacher asked was something illogical according to his experience, had the result of that decision, Peter was blessed with two loads full of fish.
Generally, the results and blessings that we receive from God tend to be also due to decisions that seem insignificant or that God does not take into account so much, but it is not so, God takes everything into account.
Simply because Peter was an experienced man in fishing, he would have refused to go to deep waters at midday, or he would have refused to lend his boat to the Lord, his logical justification would not be wrong, but he would have missed the Lord's blessing of obtaining an unimaginable catch and becoming an apostle. Peter became a witness to Jesus' miracles over the years, starting with that great catch of fish.
This picture in the life of the apostle Peter was undoubtedly the decision that allowed Peter to preach later on at Pentecost and three thousand people were saved. Do you think that the small requests of the Lord are too small?

Deseamos recibir las mejores bendiciones pero no consideramos las decisiones que tomamos, los resultados que hoy tenemos son el conforme a las decisiones que hemos tomado en el pasado, cualquier elección por mas insignificante que parezca puede generar un cambio profundo en el futuro.
Aconteció que estando Jesús junto al lago de Genesaret, el gentío se agolpaba sobre él para oír la palabra de Dios. 2 Y vio dos barcas que estaban cerca de la orilla del lago; y los pescadores, habiendo descendido de ellas, lavaban sus redes. 3 Y entrando en una de aquellas barcas, la cual era de Simón, le rogó que la apartase de tierra un poco; y sentándose, enseñaba desde la barca a la multitud. 4 Cuando terminó de hablar, dijo a Simón: Boga mar adentro, y echad vuestras redes para pescar. 5 Respondiendo Simón, le dijo: Maestro, toda la noche hemos estado trabajando, y nada hemos pescado; mas en tu palabra echaré la red. 6 Y habiéndolo hecho, encerraron gran cantidad de peces, y su red se rompía. 7 Entonces hicieron señas a los compañeros que estaban en la otra barca, para que viniesen a ayudarles; y vinieron, y llenaron ambas barcas, de tal manera que se hundían. 8 Viendo esto Simón Pedro, cayó de rodillas ante Jesús, diciendo: Apártate de mí, Señor, porque soy hombre pecador. 9 Porque por la pesca que habían hecho, el temor se había apoderado de él, y de todos los que estaban con él, 10 y asimismo de Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón. Pero Jesús dijo a Simón: No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres. 11 Y cuando trajeron a tierra las barcas, dejándolo todo, le siguieron.

La mayoría de las veces Dios nos pide cosas muy sencillas que nos parecen insignificante y lo pasamos por alto, pensamos: "Esto no tiene tanta importancia, no hace falta que lo haga", pero olvidamos que estas pequeñas decisiones son un pequeño paso a algo mucho mas grande. Recordemos a Pedro en el pasaje anterior, una simple decisión por lo que el Señor le había pedido cambió radicalmente toda su vida, pasó a ser pescador a pescador de hombres.
5 Respondiendo Simón, le dijo: Maestro, toda la noche hemos estado trabajando, y nada hemos pescado; mas en tu palabra echaré la red.
Lucas 5:5
Este cuadro nos muestra el resultado de una noche muy agotadora por el trabajo, pero trabajo improductivo, es decir: Pedro no estaba con las ganas de seguir así, pero aún así aceptó las palabras del Señor y movió la barca para que la multitud oyese las palabras de Jesús. Después de esto el Señor pidió a Pedro que saliera a aguas mucho mas profundas (según Pedro y su experiencia NO era el momento oportuno). La obediencia de Pedro, la decisión de escuchar y hacer conforme a lo que Jesús le pidió, aún cuando Pedro estaba muy cansado y frustrado, aún sabiendo Pedro que lo que pedía el maestro era algo ilógico según su experiencia tuvo el resultado de esa decisión, Pedro fué bendecido con dos cargas repletas de peces.
Generalmente los resultados y bendiciones que recibimos de parte de Dios suelen ser también por decisiones que parecen insignificantes o que Dios no lo lleva tanto en cuenta, pero no es así, Dios tiene todo en cuenta.
Sencillamente como Pedro era un hombre experimentado en la pesca se hubiera negado a ir a medio día a aguas profundas, o se hubiese negado a prestar su barca al Señor, su justificación lógica no sería errada, pero SI se hubiese perdido la bendición del Señor de obtener una pesca inimaginable y de convertirse en apóstol. Pedro a lo largo de los años se convirtió en un testigo de los milagros de Jesús, iniciando con esa gran pesca.
Este cuadro en la vida del apóstol Pedro sin dudas ha sido la decisión que ha permitido que mas adelante, en Pentecostés Pedro haya predicado y tres mil personas se salvaron. ¿Crees que las pequeñas peticiones del Señor son demasiado mi?
