Performing our ministry, our calling in the kingdom of God, even though it may seem like the smallest role or function, this does not mean less joy, on the contrary, small acts of service represent great joy before the Lord.
26 And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, see that he who was with you on the other side of the Jordan, of whom you testified, baptizes, and all come to him. 27 John answered and said, A man cannot receive anything except it be given him from heaven. 28 You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, I am not the Christ, but I am sent before him. 29 He who has a wife, he is her husband; but the husband's friend, who is next to him and hears him, greatly rejoices in the husband's voice; So this my joy is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He who comes from above is above all; He who is of the earth, he is earthly, and he speaks earthly things; he who comes from heaven, he is above all.
John 3:26-31
We see in the previous text that the disciples were concerned about John who in this case occupied the place of the leader, we also see that they were concerned about his ministry and that it subsist. When the disciples told John that Jesus was baptizing and everyone was coming to him, John responded that he was not the messiah, John's disciples hoped that his ministry would not end and that somehow John would receive the respect he deserved as a prophet. John's attitude and response may have surprised his disciples.
In this case we see that John, full of faith, put himself in the inferior position to the ministry of Our Lord Jesus Christ, going from being the main leader to becoming a secondary character in this painting. But in this case Juan did not feel offended, much less did he feel sadness, he only felt fullness of joy.
Why did he feel this? John understood very well what his role was in terms of service, we can see this later declared by the Lord Jesus Christ himself, John prepared the way for the messiah, that was his main work in his life.
9 But what did you go out to see? To a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Matthew 11:9
Our work in the work of the Lord is similar, in the small actions of faith our greatest joy is expressed, our testimony of the impact of God in our lives can be a cause of joy, in everything we have been blessed with , in all the ability to develop our gifts and talents, in EVERYTHING we can achieve we rejoice giving the primary role to the Lord Jesus Christ as the main one. We can say like John "Behold the lamb of God."
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

Desempeñar nuestro ministerio, nuestro llamado en el reino de Dios, por más que parezca el rol o función más pequeña esto no significa menos gozo, todo lo contrario, los pequeños actos de servicio representan un sumo gozo delante del señor.
26 Y vinieron a Juan y le dijeron: Rabí, mira que el que estaba contigo al otro lado del Jordán, de quien tú diste testimonio, bautiza, y todos vienen a él. 27 Respondió Juan y dijo: No puede el hombre recibir nada, si no le fuere dado del cielo. 28 Vosotros mismos me sois testigos de que dije: Yo no soy el Cristo, sino que soy enviado delante de él. 29 El que tiene la esposa, es el esposo; mas el amigo del esposo, que está a su lado y le oye, se goza grandemente de la voz del esposo; así pues, este mi gozo está cumplido. 30 Es necesario que él crezca, pero que yo mengüe.
31 El que de arriba viene, es sobre todos; el que es de la tierra, es terrenal, y cosas terrenales habla; el que viene del cielo, es sobre todos.

Vemos en el texto anterior que los discípulos se preocuparon por Juan que en este caso ocupaba el lugar del líder, también vemos que se preocupaban por su ministerio y que este subsista. Cuándo los discípulos dijeron a Juan que Jesús estaba bautizando y todos venían a él Juan respondió que él no era el mesías, los discípulos de Juan esperaban que su ministerio no terminase y en alguna manera que Juan reciba el respeto que merecía como profeta. La actitud y la respuesta de Juan quizás sorprendió a sus discípulos.
En este caso vemos que Juan lleno de fe se puso en la posición inferior al ministerio de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo pasando de ser el líder principal hacer un personaje secundario en este cuadro. Pero en este caso Juan no se sintió ofendido ni mucho menos sintió tristeza sólo sintió plenitud de gozo.
¿Porque sintió esto? Juan entendió muy bien cuál era su papel en cuanto al servicio, esto lo podemos ver más adelante declarado por el mismo señor Jesucristo, Juan preparó el camino para el mesías, ese fue su principal labor en su vida.
9 Pero ¿qué salisteis a ver? ¿A un profeta? Sí, os digo, y más que profeta.

Nuestro labor en la obra del Señor es similar, en las pequeñas acciones de fe es se plasma nuestro mayor gozo, nuestro testimonio del impacto de Dios en nuestras vidas puede ser causa de gozo, en todo lo que hemos sido bendecido, en toda la capacidad para desarrollar nuestros dones y talentos, en TODO lo que podemos lograr nos gozamos dando el papel primario al Señor Jesucristo como el principal. Podemos decir como Juan "He aquí el cordero de Dios".
29 El siguiente día vio Juan a Jesús que venía a él, y dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.
