As we spend time in the presence of the Lord, we are filled with joy.
God, you are my God;
Early in the morning I will seek you;
My soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you,
In a dry and weary land where there is no water,
To see your power and your glory,
As I have looked upon you in the sanctuary.
For your loving-kindness is better than life;
My lips will give you thanks.
So will I bless you as long as I live;
In your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth will give you thanks with joyful lips,
When I remember you on my bed,
When I meditate on you in the watches of the night.
For you have been my help,
So in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.
My soul clings to you;
Your right hand has upheld me.
But those who seek my soul to be destroyed
Shall fall into the lowest places of the earth.
They shall be cut off by the edge of the sword;
They shall be portions of jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God;
He who swears by him shall be praised;
For the mouths of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
Psalm 63
Let us remember those times of falling in love, when we are in love our only desire is to be and spend time with the person we love. When we talk about being in love with Christ it is not so different. Usually people read the Bible and pray quickly as if to comply, this creates a habit, it ends up being a simple custom instead of building a lasting knowledge and intimacy, we must get closer to God.
19 Now, then, seek the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Begin the construction of the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may move the ark of the covenant and the sacred utensils to the temple that will be built in honor of his Name.
1 Chronicles 22:19
It is important that we consider approaching God with a purpose. Let us remember King David, it is in this same way that if we wish to relate to the Lord, we have the obligation to begin different spiritual disciplines. The initial steps could be: Pray before opening the Bible and ask for God's direction through His Holy Spirit, ask God what He wants to tell us and thus understand His ways, get to know Him more. Let us remember that God loves to answer our requests.
In the night my soul desires you[a],
indeed my spirit within me seeks you[b] diligently;
for when the earth knows your judgments,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Isaiah 26:9
We must act with determination just like Isaiah, even when we do not have that desire to dedicate time to the Lord, we simply MUST do it, when we learn to act consciously and not by what we feel we can experience His presence.
Knowing the Lord fills us with joy, our attention is focused on the Lord and we learn to spend time with him, our love for him is strengthened. God has given us and gives us the best, and we give him the same in return.

A medida que pasamos tiempo en la presencia del Señor, nos llenamos de gozo.
Dios, Dios mío eres tú;
De madrugada te buscaré;
Mi alma tiene sed de ti, mi carne te anhela,
En tierra seca y árida donde no hay aguas,
Para ver tu poder y tu gloria,
Así como te he mirado en el santuario.
Porque mejor es tu misericordia que la vida;
Mis labios te alabarán.
Así te bendeciré en mi vida;
En tu nombre alzaré mis manos.
Como de meollo y de grosura será saciada mi alma,
Y con labios de júbilo te alabará mi boca,
Cuando me acuerde de ti en mi lecho,
Cuando medite en ti en las vigilias de la noche.
Porque has sido mi socorro,
Y así en la sombra de tus alas me regocijaré.
Está mi alma apegada a ti;
Tu diestra me ha sostenido.
Pero los que para destrucción buscaron mi alma
Caerán en los sitios bajos de la tierra.
Los destruirán a filo de espada;
Serán porción de los chacales.
Pero el rey se alegrará en Dios;
Será alabado cualquiera que jura por él;
Porque la boca de los que hablan mentira será cerrada.
Salmos 63
Recordemos esos tiempos de enamoramiento, cuando estamos enamorados nuestro único deseo es estar y pasar tiempo con la persona que amamos. Cuando hablamos de estar enamorados de Cristo no es tan diferente. Usualmente las personas leen la biblia y oran rápidamente como para cumplir, esto genera un hábito, termina siendo una simple costumbre en lugar de construcción de un conocimiento e intimidad perdurable, debemos acercarnos a Dios.
19 Ahora, pues, busquen al Señor su Dios de todo corazón y con toda el alma. Comiencen la construcción del santuario de Dios el Señor, para que trasladen el arca del pacto y los utensilios sagrados al templo que se construirá en honor de su Nombre».
1 Crónicas 22:19
Es importante que consideremos acercarnos a Dios con un propósito, Recordemos al Rey David, es de esa misma manera si deseamos relacionarnos con el Señor, tenemos la obligación de iniciar diferentes disciplinas espirituales. Los pasos iniciales podrían ser: Orar antes de abrir la biblia y pedir la dirección de Dios por medio de su Espíritu Santo, preguntar a Dios que es lo que nos quiere hablar y así entender sus caminos, conocerle mas. Recordemos que a Dios le encanta responder nuestras peticiones.
En la noche te desea mi alma[a],
en verdad mi espíritu dentro de mí te busca[b] con diligencia;
porque cuando la tierra tiene conocimiento de tus juicios,
aprenden justicia los habitantes del mundo.
Isaías 26:9
Debemos actuar con determinación así como Isaías, aún cuando no tenemos esas ganas de dedicar el tiempo al Señor, simplemente DEBEMOS hacerlo, cuando aprendemos a actuar conscientemente y no por lo que sentimos podemos experimentar su presencia.
Conocer al Señor nos llena de gozo, nuestra atención se centra en el Señor y aprendemos a pasar tiempo con él, nuestro amor por él se fortalece. Dios nos ha dado y nos da lo mejor, eso mismo le retribuimos.
