John 4:11My dear friends, do not believe all who claim to have the Spirit, but test them to find out if the spirit they have comes from God. For many false prophets have gone out everywhere
Believe not every spirit, because there are false prophets who decieve people. There are many of them now in our time. Jesus is the only teacher who teaches righteousness, therefore, he is the only one we should listen to
11 Peter 2:11False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines, and will deny the Master who redeemed them, and so they will bring upon themselves sudden destruction
The bible says there are false teachers among us, and this was written 2000 years ago, and it's effect is still intense in our time. We should adhere to the true teachings of God. False teachers teach their own teachings. The bible is standard. If those teaching from other teachers deviates, and contradicts the word of God, such preacher is a false teacher. We should only appreciate and accept what the Bible say. Also, we should take it upon ourselves to find out the truth
Ecclesiastes 7:27Yes, said the Philosopher, I found this out little by little while I was looking for answers
We should always look out for the truth. The philosopher said "I found this out little by little". This means he had dug deep into it. We should compare things to find out the account or the truth. We should compare the Bible with the doctrines of many teachers to find out what's right or wrong.
Romans 12:99Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good
We should check which is good, cling to it, and abstain from what is evil. We can only differentiate if we compare and make a good choice. If don't check for what is bad or good, we cannot know the right thing to do
How to call upon God
In this world that we find ourselves, there's no way we won't experience some difficult times. Situations would arise where there may be no one to stretch a hand of help. Only God can come to our rescue, that's why prayer is very important as a commandment. Many people pray in vain. The bible stressed more on that
John 9:31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth
We know that God does not listen to sinners; he does listen to people who respect him and do what he wants them to do
The prayer of sinners has no effect in the presence of God. If the person praying is evil, God is not pleased, but if the person praying is upright, God is delighted, so we must understand this before we open our mouth to pray. We should stay away from sin before praying, else, we pray in vain
Matthew 6:7-9When you pray, do not use a lot of meaningless words, as the pagans do, who think that their gods will hear them because their prayers are long. 8Do not be like them. Your Father already knows what you need before you ask him
Also, using vain repetition is not allowed by God in the scripture. For instance, the using of rosary is a repetition of prayer, just like the Muslim tesbiu. We should understand that whatever is not found in the Bible is not of God. The rosary came 1200 years after Christ ascended to heaven. It was given by Saint Dominic in the year 1214, which implies that it's not from God. Prayer should not be repeated because before we pray, the father already understands. God says in Isaiah 65:24, that he would answer before we call, and he would hear when we are still speaking, so there's no need praying repetitively. Even when we pray in the presence of storm, he would hear us
Ecclesiastes 5:1Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few
Furthermore, the Bible made it clear that we shouldn't be rash with our mouth, and our words should be few. We need to be specific with our prayers. Praying off point is not the right way to pray. When you are hungry, don't pray for cars. Food is what is needed so be specific and ask God to provide for your needs. If you are sick, pray for good health. God love when we are specific about our prayers
Matthew 7:5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward
Prayer must not be done to show off. Thou shall not pray like a hypocrite that love staying on the street for people to see. Prayer is a private matter between us and God. Shit the door, and pray privately to God for God to reward you openly. The hypocrites have their reward already, by showing off their prayers
When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down with all of them and prayed
The best way to pray is to kneel down. This show humility. According to Matthew 26:39, When Jesus prayed in gestemane in Jerusalem, he fell with his face to the ground. That is how to pray
MARK 11:25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have anything against anyone: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
It's not prohibited to stand praying, but when it's done to show off like the hypocrite, it's prohibited by God.
Having the head covered and uncovered
1Corinthians11:4-5Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved
Everyman praying with his head covered dishonours his head, and every woman praying without covering her head dishonours her head. There's an organogram in the heirachy of superiority. God is the head of Christ. Christ is the head of Christ and man is the head of the woman. When a woman covers her head, it shows that the man's head is under the authority of Christ, because the symbol of the head of man is Christ, and that of the woman is the man. So a woman ought to cover her head because of the angels
