Good day beloved brothers and sisters today the 26th of April,2021, i would like to share my lesson gained from the Live Mass service i partook in today by 5pm nigerian time.
Lesson Gained: From Brother Elis teachings today, i understood that Gods word unto us as christian is meant to help us examine ourselves in other to know who we are truly serving or want to serve. Isaiah 28:8-13kjv: "8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken".
Remember no man can serve to masters at same time. It is either we are for God or for the devil. 1 corin 10:21kjv: "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils".
After which he went on to talk about " VOW"
Vow is solemn promise to do a specific thing. A vow should be done out of ones volution, not been forced to do so.
Num30:2kjv: " If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth".
A vow must not be broken especially when it is unto God.
Eccle 5:4-5kjv: "When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed".
It is important to note that every christian can make a vow to God so far it is been kept and not broken. Vow is not a sin.
Acts18:18kjv: "And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow".
He also talked about "Giving". We should know that in giving, God does not desire our material things, so we should not give with the notion that we are helping God.
Phili 4:17kjv: " Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account".
Our giving should be from our heart.
2 corin 9:7kjv: " Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver".
Beloved remember when we give we are walking in obedience to Gods commandment and will, so definitely He has a reward for every one who obeys.
Isaiah 1:19kjv: "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land".
