Gutting of the Ana Masion Hotell

Many people are unfamiliar with the concept of a gutting. Its most basic definition is to remove the guts or interior of something. This is a term construction workers use to refer to tearing out an entire structure. It turns out that this term can apply to more than just a structure. In the case of the Ana Masion hotel, its interior was removed and will soon be replaced. The workers who carried out the gutting of the hotel are in the processof removeing everything that could be removed, including all fixtures from the bathroom, hallways, and kitchen.

I was asked to go take some pictures to do a before and after presentation of the hotel. Being that it is not finished yet these are only the in process photos.

Without wasting too much time, let’s take a look at the building. This building is under construction. It’s shooting up in the sky as workers mend it. They are replacing the windows, fixing the roof, and remodeling the inside. The building that is being gutted is the hotel. They need to make it look new before it can welcome people.

most of this rubble is from the rooftop that has been almost completely stripped off.

I was at this place a few months ago look much different and excited see what look like when it's all cleaned up

Inside however is a claustrophobic mess , littered with different things that are ripped out the floors above

the elevator while functional did provide a bit of a sketchy experience

However the rooftop was completely gone and you could see the blue sky. They removed a lot of material.

Inside the walls look like strange spider creatures were making their home ripping through things

O bit further on top of the roof there was a pool over in that area at one point

this area where I was standing was a spa

It does have a nice view of the city and of the ocean. That little dot of island over there in the left-hand middle, that is Cham Island.

and does have a good view of the cityscape behind it

I found all these rooms quite fascinating with them being so empty and raw.

gutting_ (30).jpg

always strewn with wires and electrical lines as the buildings being stripped of all previous life.

The ceilings were a mess with PVC tubes.

Looking beyond the mess however I could see how beautiful these rooms will eventually become

gutting_ (37).jpg

a lot of potential in a place like this to develop and grow

all marble line bathrooms just waiting for new life

This one day will be a digital nomad hotspot for sure.

When these rooms are finished, they will look pristine and new. It will be hard for people to tell that these walls are fresh from being ripped open and new paint slapped on. What will be even harder to notice is the work that goes into making this renovation happen. What amazes me most is when I see these photos, I can’t believe that there are people who come into the hotel and never notice how things are coming along, or how the renovation has affected the atmosphere.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and hope you found it somewhat exciting!
