(Mostly not) Pruning Young Oak Trees....

Having finally dragged out and burned most of the brash that we cut out last srping, saving enough to create a decent flooor covering, I finally got around to pruning some of the young oaks a couple of days ago.

I've no idea what I'm doing TBH - so I've adopted a policy of pruning as little as possible, mainly just cutting out dead branches or anything that's so straggly it doesn't stand a chance.

For the most part, however, I've left the very young trees alone, and tried to do as little as possible with them.

There are a few older trees, several years old that I'll wait and get someone in to show me how to care for them, they need a bit of attention some of them.

It's going to take a good few hours to get around all the trees, and once I've pruned those that need it, and cleared out anything that's blocking light, for the older trees, then I'll come back and muluch in probably March, don't really need that in Winter.

It's good to be doing somethig constructive at last!
