Hello from ArtPark!
We have not formally introduced ourselves because life.. yeah, life. We did a little introduction in our MerMay 2023 post but we are an artist community that strives to inspire each other to create by hosting art challenges we call "ArtPark Weekly".
On that note, we have found another activity to introduce on this platform — Sketchtember.
What is Sketchtember?
According to the official website Sketchtember.art, Sketchtember is a challenge inspired by Inktober. Think of Sketchtember as a warm-up for Inktober. Sketchtember values sketching as a fun part of creating and exercising your creative muscles. Whatever you create in Sketchtember, you could use it in Inktober.. or not. You decide!
We are not sure if the prompts on the site are updated but you surely can choose to follow that, find prompts created by others, make one yourself, or sketch whatever you feel at the moment. Whatever you do, just enjoy the process.
This challenge, like the other art challenges, is typically a 30-day art challenge but as much as doing 1 day every day for the whole month feels satisfactory, do not feel the pressure to do so. You can skip a day or a week. Heck! You could do just as much as you can.
With that in mind, in pure ArtPark fashion, here is the Sketchtember prompt we have compiled. In our prompts, we have created it to be weekly instead of the usual daily so there is no pressure to do the challenge every day. We have our own lives so through this art challenge, we want to emphasize that drawing or sketching should be a relaxing activity.
Guidelines for participating:
- You can choose 1 from the 3 words within the weekly prompt or combine it all.
- ALL ART STYLES ARE WELCOME!
- Only hand-drawn illustrations (traditional and digital)
- AI-generated/touched-up AI images and photo manipulation are not allowed.
- Please credit @artpark if you use the ArtPark prompts, and include the prompt image in your post.
- You are encouraged to use #sketchtember on Hive and #sketchtember2023 when posting on non-Hive social media platforms.
So, get your pencil, pen, and stylus, stretch your wrists, relax, SKETCH!!
