Welcome to my blog again. I am glad that you are here . Today i would like to share the recipe of sangari also known as desert been which is speciality of Rajasthan ( India).

This is a traditional , spicy , tasty and healthy dish which represent the Rajasthan's authentic taste. Sangari contains lots of nutritions like calcium, zinc, iron etc.

This is a spicy recipe where you can adjust the level of spice according to your taste buds. Dried red chilli, ker, some dryfruits and herbs makes this recipe amazing which we can enjoy with normal chapati, missi roti or bajra roti, meethi roti or dal paratha. This is a delicious vegetarian recipe which is easy to make. Let's see the recipe ๐Ÿ˜€

INGREDIENTS โœ…

  • Sangri ( desert been ) 1 bowl
  • Ker 8-10 piece
  • Red dried chilli 2-3 piece
  • Cashew 6-8 piece
  • Raisins some
  • Oil 4-5 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  • Asofoedita ( hing) one pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Dry mango powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp ( optional)

PROCESS TO MAKE SANGRI โœ…

Step 1 :

First soak sangri , ker, dried red chilli and raisins for 3-4 hours.

Cut red chilli in 2-3 pieces.

Step 2 :

After soaking wash all things well and put sangari & ker in the pressure Cooker and boil it. Cook till the 3 whistle on the full flame and keep aside for some time. After that drain the water .

You can see after boiling the texture of sangri is totally changed.

Step 3 :

Now take a deep pan or kadai and heat the oil. You can also make it with less oil . But good quantity of oil brings awesome taste and sabji will last for 2-3 days , so i used more oil. Add cumin seeds and hing in the hot oil.

Now add dried red chilli, cashew, ker and raisins.

Saute for the some seconds and add all spices in it. You can add spices in 2 tbsp water and than mix it so spices don't burn. Otherwise add spices and instant add some water.

Cook spices for some seconds and add 10-15 ml water again and cook for 30 seconds. Also add sugar if you want.

Step 4 :

Now add boiled sangri in it. Squeeze water properly with both hand , than add to the kadai.

Mix well , if you realise to add some spices or more water than add it.

Cook for 4-5 minutes on the low to medium flame.



This is the proper food i made that day. Aloo sabji, chutney, sangri sabji, meetha Paratha and dal Paratha. In which i already shared the recipe of dal and meetha paratha.
