Mathri recipe|| A crispy crunchy delicious snack

Welcome to my blog . I am so glad that you are here again. Today i would like to Share a crispy, crunchy and delicious snack recipe named mathri.

Mathri is a rajasthani snack recipe, which is popular all over india. mathri is made by refined flour and some herbs. This is a deep fried snacks , which we can store for long time, almost 20-30 days.

A very tasty snack which we can enjoy with tea or pickle. Our all festivals are incomplete without mathri. And I have been watching my mother making this snack since childhood. Even she also learnt this from his mother. This is a very old recipe which has been being made in our house for many years. And we all loved to have it.

Only a few ingredients are needed to make this and In some time this tasty snack is ready. For this we can use wheat flour instead of maida( refined flour). But in this recipe I have used refined flour.

INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Refined flour 1 kg
  • Salt to taste
  • Carom seeds 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 bowl of knead the dough
  • Oil for fry
  • Semolina 1/2 bowl (optional)

PROCESS ✅

First in a large mixing bowl , add all ingredients , mix all well. Now knead the dough using luke warm water. Knead a hard dough . Not much hard but It shouldn't be soft at all. Than make small balls using dough like this. ( I don't have pictures of the staring process).

Than flatten balls with thumb or with the rolling pin. I used rolling pin .

That time my baby also helped me to fallten the balls 😛.

Now i make hall with the fork like this. This makes mathri crispy.

All mathri are ready to fry.



Now heat oil in a deep kadai or pan. When the oil gets medium hot add mathri in the oil like this.

Now fry the mathri in the low flame. This process take some time but make mathri so crunchy and crispy.

Fry until it turn golden brown.

When mathri become golden brown remove it in a large plate.

Your delicious snacks is ready to enjoy. Enjoy it with tea or finger food at any time.

You can make this snack for festival, party and travelling and can store it for long time. This is really delicious to have.
