Broken wheat khichdi ( vegetable daliya recipe)

Today i am here with a nutritious, tasty and quick recipe : Broken wheat vegetable khichdi/daliya recipe which is riched in fiber and lots of other nutritions and easy to digest . An easy recipe for a busy day or all day.



Broken wheat vegetable daliya is a quick and compete meal option loaded with veggies. We can added veggies to our choice and availability. A best recipe for weight loss . We can enjoyed it as dinner or breakfast. This is also suitable for kids and sick person.

Some days ago I shared the recipe of khichdi made by rice and lentils. This is totally different recipe But it is equally healthy and easy.

We can make it in 2 types. First it very simple, where we have to just roast daliya , add water and salt and cooked in the pressure cooker , which I'll share soon . And second one is vegetable khichadi type which i am going share today.

My whole family loved this recipe and we prefer it to have for dinner. Because it is easy to digest. This time I add onion, tomato, green beas, potato, green chilli and some herbs. You can also add beens or some more veggies. I use oil because i make it vegan, you can also add ghee or butter for make it more healthy.

INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Broken wheat 1/2 bowl
  • Onion 1
  • Potato 1
  • Tomato 1
  • Carrot 1
  • Green chilli 1-2
  • Green peas 1/4 bowl
  • Coriander leaves
  • Ginger (optional)
  • Oil 1 tsp + 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Hing one pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala (optional)
  • Water 2 bowl



PROCESS ✅

Step 1 :

First collect all ingredients and chopped veggies. You can chopped veggies in medium size or small. This time i chopped in medium size.

Step 2 :

Now take a pan , add little oil or vegan butter and toast the broken wheat (daliya) on the low flame. Roast it until it turns aromatic. This process took 3-5 minutes.

Step 3 :

On the other hand take a pressure cooker , add little oil , heat the oil and add cumin seeds and asofoedita. When seeds start to crackle add green chilli, saute it for some seconds and add chopped onion. And saute for some seconds again.

Now add potato, tomato, green peas one by one and saute for 1-2 minutes.

Now add all spices, water and roasted daliya in it. Give it a good mix , close the lid of pressure cooker and cook till the 3 whistle.

Your vegetable khichdi is ready to enjoy.

When you open the lid you can see how tempting it looks. One more time mix it well and serve.
