Greetings to all, hope you are well. Today I wanted to bring a topic that for me is quite interesting, the existence of PDF.
Now, the topic we are interested in has to do with the use of PDF for books. For some people PDF is the only way to access the world of reading, because it is easier for them to search X book on the Internet, download it and read it. Not everyone has the same possibilities to go to a bookstore or pay for a book online. Some do not agree with encouraging reading in this way, arguing that this medium does not leave any profit to the authors and spread their work for free. Now, is this really the case? On the one hand, they are right. The PDF (in most cases and depending a lot on the pages where you get them) is free to download and you can have almost any book on a cell phone, tablet or computer; therefore, they do not usually leave a profit to the authors for their work. But, you have to look at the other side of the coin, PDF is a type of advertising for all authors. People who usually read in PDF do so because they cannot access a book in physical format, but as soon as they have the opportunity, they get the book and read the story again. I say this from my own experience, as I usually read in PDF, but from time to time I can afford to buy books. The PDF in these cases acts as free advertising, as people read them and want to search for the books in PDF and only buy the ones they genuinely like and not waste their money on a book they don't enjoy. I, personally, defend the use of PDF as an easy access tool to keep reading present in the new generations. What do you think? Ahora, el tema que nos interesa tiene que ver con el uso del PDF para los libros. Para algunas personas el PDF es la única manera de poder acceder al mundo de la lectura, pues se les hace más fácil buscar X libro en internet, descargarlo y leerlo. No todos tienen las mismas posibilidades de ir a una librería o pagar por un libro en línea. Ahora ¿esto es realmente así? Por una parte, tienen razón. El PDF (en la mayoría de los casos y dependen mucho de las páginas donde se consigan) es gratuito de descargar y puedes tener casi cualquier libro en un celular, tableta o computadora; por lo tanto, no suelen dejarle ganancia a los autores por su trabajo. Pero, hay que verle el otro lado de la moneda, el PDF es un tipo de publicidad para todos los autores. Las personas que suelen leer en PDF lo hacen por no poder acceder a un libro de formato físico, pero en cuanto tienen la oportunidad se hacen con el libro y vuelven a leer la historia. Lo digo por experiencia propia, ya que suelo leer en PDF, pero de vez en cuando puedo darme el lujo de comprar libros. El PDF en estos casos actúa como publicidad gratuita, pues las personas los leen y desean buscar los libros en PDF y solo compran los que genuinamente les gustan y no malgastan su dinero en un libro que después no disfrutan. Yo, en lo personal, defiendo el uso del PDF como una herramienta de fácil acceso para que la lectura siga presente en las nuevas generaciones. ¿Qué opinan ustedes? First, what is PDF? It is a storage format for digital documents, it allows to read all kinds of documents, whether they are for study, work, etc.

Primero ¿Qué es el PDF? Según wikipedia se debe a las siglas en inglés Portable Document Format, ("formato de documento portátil" en español). Es un formato de almacenamiento para documentos digitales, permite leer todo tipo de documentos, sean de estudio, trabajo, etc.
Algunos no están de acuerdo en fomentar la lectura de esta manera, pues argumentan que este medio no le deja alguna ganancia a los autores y difunden su trabajo de manera gratuita.
