Hello again ✨
This year has been a journey full of emotions for me, and the best ones always come from the pages of a good book 📚. This year, I have been lucky to discover some that not only entertained me, but also left a profound mark on me. Below, I want to share with you my top 3 favorite readings of the year so far, those that have accompanied me in moments of joy, reflection, and sometimes even sadness 💔.
1. Verity by Colleen Hoover (5/5)
✨We start with "Verity", a novel that hooked me from the first page. Colleen Hoover is an author who has gained a lot of popularity, especially with books like "Slammed" and the release of her movie and also "Maybe Someday". However, "Verity" is not as well-known as the others and in my opinion, it's much better. The story revolves around a writer who finds herself in a desperate situation and agrees to complete the book series of a famous author: Verity. As the protagonist delves into Verity's manuscripts, she discovers an autobiography with very dark secrets that lead her to question everything she believed she knew.
What struck me the most about this thriller was the way Hoover mixes romance with psychological suspense. The tension between the characters is palpable, and every plot twist left me on the edge of my seat. This book made me reflect on the nature of love, ambition, and the limits we are willing to cross to achieve our dreams. Without a doubt, it's a read I would recommend to anyone looking for an intriguing and emotionally intense story.
2. Happy Place by Emily Henry (5/5)
✨Another book that earned a special place in my heart is "Happy Place" by Emily Henry. This author has been a wonderful discovery for me this year. The story follows Harriet and Wyn, a couple who, despite breaking up, pretend to be a happy couple during a vacation with friends. As the plot unfolds, unresolved feelings and relationship complexities are explored.
I loved how the author captures the essence of friendship and love. The characters are endearing and realistic, and the prose is so seamless that I felt as if I was living the story with them, drinking wine 🍷eating delicious cheeses 🧀. This book made me reflect on what it truly means to be in a happy place, both physically and emotionally. It left me with a sense of warmth and hope in my heart, reminding me of the importance of human connections.
3. Fourth Wings by Rebecca Yarros (4/5)
✨Lastly, "Fourth Wings" by Rebecca Yarros, the first novel in the Empyrean series, is another book worth mentioning. It's one of the books I read this year due to social media hype, but I really liked it. This novel combines elements of fantasy and romance (spicy 🌶️), and introduces us to a protagonist who must face a world full of challenges and difficult decisions. Although I rated it 4/5, it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the story; I just felt there were some aspects that could have been explored more deeply.
What I liked most about "Fourth Wings" was the world-building and the depth of the characters (especially the dragons 🐉, I think they are the best characters in the series). Rebecca Y. managed to create an atmosphere in Basguiath that grips you from the beginning, from the first trial that Violet has to face, to survive in the war school she was not prepared to enter, but still pushed by her own mother, to show up in a place where you either rise or fall☠️.
Looking back and reflecting on these books, I realize that I often get carried away by the recommendations I find on Instagram, and the beginning of this year was no exception. Social media has become an invaluable source of literary discoveries, and I am grateful for the connections I have made through them. I hope the same 🤗

Lo que va de año ha sido una travesía llena de emociones para mí, y las mejores son siempre las que emanan de las páginas de un buen libro 📚. Este año, he tenido la suerte de descubrir algunos que no solo me han entretenido, sino que también han dejado una huella profunda en mí. A continuación, quiero compartir con ustedes mi top 3 lecturas favoritas en lo que va de año, aquellas que me han acompañado en momentos de alegría, reflexión y, a veces, incluso de tristeza 💔.
1. Verity de Colleen Hoover (5/5)
✨Comenzamos con "Verity", una novela que me atrapó desde la primera página. Colleen Hoover es una autora que ha ganado mucha popularidad, sobre todo con libros como "Romper el círculo" y el estreno de su película y también "Volver a empezar". Pero sin embargo, "Verity" no es tan conocido como los otros y a mi criterio es mucho mejor. La historia gira en torno a una escritora que se encuentra en una situación desesperada y acepta el trabajo de completar la serie de libros de una famosa autora: Verity. A medida que la protagonista se adentra en los manuscritos de Verity, descubre una autobiografía con secretos muy oscuros que la llevan a cuestionar todo lo que creía saber.
Lo que más me impactó de este thriller fue la forma en que Hoover mezcla el romance con el suspense psicológico. La tensión entre los personajes es palpable, y cada giro de la trama me dejó al borde de mi asiento. Este libro me hizo reflexionar sobre la naturaleza del amor, la ambición y los límites que estamos dispuestos a cruzar por alcanzar nuestros sueños. Sin duda, es una lectura que recomendaría a cualquiera que busque una historia intrigante y emocionalmente intensa.
2. Happy Place de Emily Henry (5/5)
✨Otro libro que se ganó un lugar especial en mi corazón es "Happy Place" de Emily Henry. Esta autora ha sido un descubrimiento maravilloso para mí este año. La historia sigue a Harriet y Wyn, una pareja que, a pesar de haber roto, finge ser una pareja feliz durante unas vacaciones con amigos. A medida que la trama avanza, se exploran los sentimientos no resueltos y las complejidades de las relaciones.
Amé la forma en que la autora captura la esencia de la amistad y el amor. Sus personajes son entrañables y realistas, y la prosa es tan fluida que me sentí como si estuviera viviendo la historia junto a ellos, bebiendo vino 🍷comiendo deliciosos quesos 🧀. Este libro me hizo reflexionar sobre lo que significa realmente estar en un lugar feliz, tanto física como emocionalmente. Me dejó con una sensación de calidez y esperanza en el corazoncito, recordándome la importancia de las conexiones humanas.
3. Alas de Sangre de Rebecca Yarros (4/5)
✨Por último, "Alas de Sangre" de Rebecca Yarros, la primera novela de la saga Empíreo es otro libro que merece ser mencionado. Es uno de los libros que leí este año debido al hype de las redes sociales, Pero me gustó mucho. Esta novela combina elementos de fantasía y romance (picante 🌶️), y nos presenta a una protagonista que debe enfrentarse a un mundo lleno de desafíos y decisiones difíciles. Aunque le di una valoración de 4/5, esto no significa que no haya disfrutado de la historia; simplemente sentí que había algunos aspectos que podían haberse explorado más a fondo.
Lo que más me gustó de "Alas de Sangre" fue la construcción del mundo y la profundidad de los personajes (sobre todo de los dragones 🐉, creo que son los mejores personajes de la saga). Rebeca Y. logró crear un ambiente en Basguiath que atrapa desde el principio, desde la primera prueba a la que se tiene que enfrentar Violet, para sobrevivir en el colegio de guerra al que no se preparó para entrar, pero aún así fue empujada, por su propia madre, a presentarse en un lugar en el que te superas o mueres☠️.
Encontré en su lectura reflexiones muy interesantes sobre la lucha por la identidad y la perseverancia en tiempos difíciles, el valor de la amistad y la familia y sobre todo la autosuperación. Las emociones que experimenté mientras leía esta historia fueron intensas y resonaron en mi propia vida.
Al mirar atrás y reflexionar sobre estos libros, me doy cuenta que a menudo, me dejo llevar por las recomendaciones que encuentro en Instagram, y lo que va de este año no fue la excepción. Las redes sociales se han convertido en una fuente invaluable de descubrimientos literarios, y estoy agradecida por las conexiones que he hecho a través de ellas. Espero que acá ♦️ también sea igual 🤗
