Introduction
Hi, fellow bookworms... I am Khoola,
Newbie here in HIVE just a month old, took me awhile before I found this place.
Yes, I am late for the contest 馃槀. I am taking this as an opportunity to introduce myself to the community.... truth be told I am kind of nervous about this.
I added some questions to reach 500 words minimum 馃ぃ
Most Memorable book?
Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire, read it as I was a kid (6 to 8 years of age, link is going to wikipedia) and as I was growing up I actively hunted down the rest of the books cause I started in the middle 馃ぃ.
Reading Problems?
Every time I read an new book I kind of forget the other books I read, but that makes it fun to read it back again or when memory gets jog I remember I already read that.
Why you join a Hive Book Club?
I have read books just fine by myself, there was a time I always stop by a book sale and not having the heart to take a book home (feeling that it doesn't have a place at home, yet). but now that I have my own place, just got no time to spend on book sales anymore.
maybe joining a club can change that.
Books you prefer to read?
Hmm, I like fantasy, sci-fi, science books... original Ideas. History! I love history (mythology) books, greek, norse, romans, wars, politics, etc.
also light romance novels.
What is your favorite time or place to read?
Time to read would be "as long as free time allows".
The Library, it is where the books are when I was a kid also free to read, books are expensive back then and it is just something about a place like that makes reading... I don't know the word to use 馃.
How far would you go for reading a book?
I went as far as trying to learn a new language, and reading it cause I want to read a books on it's original form not the translated version.
and I failed, it is hard to learn a new language when you don't have the time to learn馃ぃ.
What makes you enjoy a book?
Is this a question? I enjoy reading... even if it is considered "trash" I'll read it and say,
"Ghad, this is really trash (laugh), the hell is wrong with this author but his ideas are not bad... Oh, this is interesting..."
and so on.
but as much as possible I avoid main stream reads, I like small gems hidden beneath books shelves, unknown authors, worn out titles etc.
Do you like to read outdoors, before bed or on the bus on your way to work?
Hmmm, I'll read a book as long as free time allows... being an adult takes a lot of free time (before getting here in HIVE, I actually forgot that I love to read).
Do you focus on character development, thoughtful messages, or the level of intrigue a plot generates in you?
Unsure, anything interesting goes for me... if focus, guess the Idea the author is trying to push with his writing or maybe originality of the idea.
Thank you for taking the time to read 馃槉.
