Hello to all lovers of good reading, I hope you are feeling great today. This time I want to share with you my opinion about a very interesting book. It is the book: A Thousand Splendid Suns. This touching work comes from the hand of Khaled Hosseini.. and portrays the life of two Afghan women, Mariam and Laila, while they have to go through the difficulties of a very troubled.. marked by war, religious extremism and, obviously, machismo. The story is set in an Afghanistan ravaged by political conflicts with the Soviets, the Taliban, and later a rare U.S. intervention. But the main plot focuses on the fate of these two women who, although they come from very different backgrounds, are forced to share a very common destiny.
Mariam is an illegitimate daughter, growing up with a bitter and resentful mother, and a father who loves her in the shadows, but lacks the courage to integrate her into his “legitimate” life. Mariam's life changes when, after a family tragedy, she is forced to marry a much older, cruel and macho man, who subjects her to a horrible life of abuse and deep submission.... Throughout her life, this woman experiences a series of losses and disappointments.. this makes her a deep character, and one that can resonate with you. On the other hand, Laila, the other main character, has a completely different childhood.. she grows up in a progressive family, with a father who values education and a much more traditional, but extremely loving mother.
Hola a todos los amantes de las buenas lecturas, espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy. En esta ocasión les quiero compartir mi opinión sobre un libro muy interesante. Se trata del libro: A Thousand Splendid Suns. Esta obra conmovedora viene de la mano de Khaled Hosseini.. y retrata la vida de dos mujeres afganas, Mariam y Laila, mientras tienen que pasar por las dificultades de un país marcado muy problemático.. marcado por la guerra, el extremismo religioso y, obviamente el machismo. La historia está ambientada en un Afganistán asolado por conflictos políticos con los soviéticos, los talibanes, y más tarde una intervención rara estadounidense.. Pero la trama principal se enfoca en el destino de estas dos mujeres que, aunque provienen de contextos muy diferentes, se ven obligadas a compartir un destino muy común.
Mariam es una hija ilegítima, que crece con una madre amarga y llena de resentimiento, y con un padre que la ama en la sombra, pero no tiene el valor necesario para integrarla en su vida "legítima". La vida de Mariam cambia cuando tras una tragedia familiar es obligada a casarse con un hombre mucho mayor, cruel y machista, quien la somete a una vida horrible.. llena de abusos y profunda sumisión.. A lo largo de su vida, esta mujer experimenta una serie de pérdidas y decepciones.. esto la hace un personaje profundo, y que puede resonar en ti. Por otro lado, Laila, la otra protagonista, tiene una infancia completamente distinta.. ella crece en una familia progresista, con un padre que valora la educación y una madre mucho más tradicional, pero sumamente amorosa.
As in most circumstances, the war comes and changes everything. After a tragedy, Laila is left very much alone...and ends up (unfortunately) in the care of Mariam's husband, and through difficult circumstances, she also becomes his wife. What begins as a strained relationship between Mariam and Laila eventually evolves into a deep and powerful friendship...through this relationship, the author explores themes of female solidarity, sacrifice and the struggle for dignity, in a very oppressive environment. This friendship becomes the emotional heart of the novel, offering a ray of hope in the midst of a bleak outlook.
One of the things that stands out most in this story is the ability to tell this story, a real context, in a subtle but effective way, although the novel focuses deeply on the lives of these two protagonists, the historical background of Afghanistan is key to understanding the challenges faced by these women. From Soviet occupation to Taliban rule to a civil war, the author portrays how political events can profoundly change the lives of the most ordinary people, the people who are least to blame for what is happening, and especially the lives of women. It is a reminder of how fragile life can be in times of conflict, and how women in particular are often the most affected by political and social changes.
Como en la mayoría de circunstancias, la guerra llega y lo cambia todo. Tras una tragedia, Laila queda muy sola.. y termina (desafortunadamente) bajo el cuidado del esposo de Mariam, y por circunstancias difíciles, también se convierte en su esposa. Lo que comienza como una relación tensa entre Mariam y Laila, eventualmente evoluciona en una amistad profunda y poderosa.. a través de esta relación, el autor explora temas de solidaridad femenina, sacrificio y la lucha por la dignidad, en un entorno muy opresivo. Esta amistad se convierte en el corazón emocional de la novela, ofreciendo un rayo de esperanza en medio de un panorama sombrío.
Una de las cosas que más destacan en esta historia es la capacidad que hay para contar esta historia, un contexto real, de manera sutil pero eficaz, aunque la novela se centra profundamente en la vida de estas dos protagonistas, el trasfondo histórico de Afganistán es clave para entender los desafíos que enfrentan estas mujeres. Desde la ocupación soviética hasta el régimen talibán, pasando por una guerra civil, el autor retrata cómo los eventos políticos pueden cambiar profundamente la vida de las personas más comunes, las personas que menos tienen la culpa de lo que está pasando, y especialmente la vida de las mujeres. Es un recordatorio de lo frágil que puede ser la vida en tiempos de conflicto y cómo las mujeres en particular son a menudo las más afectadas por los cambios políticos y sociales..
The pacing of the novel is used at the beginning and allows readers to get to know the characters in depth...however, towards the middle of the book there is a major plot twist that picks up the pace and greatly increases the tension, making the reader unable to simply let go and walk away from this story. The author is not at all afraid to show all the cruelty and injustice, but he also has a unique gift for portraying beauty in the darkest moments, which gives the novel an emotional quality that resonates very much with people, he doesn't resort to complicated metaphors.... Instead, her prose is straightforward, which makes the novel's hardest moments hit hard...despite this, there is much underlying beauty in her writing, especially in the way she describes the relationship between Mariam and Laila.
This simplicity, combined with the emotional intensity of the whole story, makes it accessible and deeply moving.What struck me most was the depth of the characters and the way they feel real...as the story progresses, you feel completely immersed in Mariam and Laila's lives, and it is impossible not to develop an emotional attachment to them. The cruelty they face from a patriarchal society and the internal struggles are heartbreaking, but the strength and resilience of these two, leaves an impression on you... Although it is a difficult book to read at times due to the harshness of the reality it portrays, I also find it incredibly powerful and necessary.... The friendship between these two without a doubt is the soul of the novel, and their entire evolution throughout the story is beautiful. I highly recommend it, I give it a rating of 4.7/5. It is definitely a book that I recommend to anyone who is looking for a deep and emotional read, and who is not afraid to delve into the harsher realities of life...
The saddest thing about it is that even though it's fiction in this one, these things are really happening in actuality. It's not like they don't happen and just stay in fiction, I wish it were so, but this is not the case... there are many women and other people who are really living a hell, and it is extremely sad. This can leave you very touched in your soul, but well, I hope you are encouraged to read this story. El ritmo de la novela está usado al principio y permite a los lectores conocer a fondo a los personajes.. sin embargo, hacia la mitad del libro hay un giro importante en la trama que acelera el ritmo y aumenta mucho la tensión, lo que hace que el lector no pueda simplemente soltar y salirse de esta historia. El autor no teme para nada en mostrar toda la crueldad y la injusticia, pero también tiene un don único para retratar la belleza en los momentos más oscuros, lo que le da a la novela una calidad emocional que resuena mucho en las personas, no recurre a metáforas complicadas.. En cambio, su prosa es directa, lo que hace que los momentos más duros de la novela golpeen con fuerza.. a pesar de ello, hay mucha belleza subyacente en su escritura, especialmente en la forma que describe la relación entre Mariam y Laila.
Esta simplicidad, combinada con la intensidad emocional de toda la historia, hace que sea accesible y profundamente conmovedora, lo que más me impactó fue la profundidad de los personajes y la manera en la que se sienten reales.. a medida que avanza la historia, se siente completamente inmerso en las vidas de Mariam y Laila, y es imposible no desarrollar un apego emocional hacia ellas. La crueldad que enfrentan a una sociedad patriarcal y las luchas internas son desgarradas, pero la fortaleza y la resistencia de estas dos, te deja huella.. Aunque es un libro difícil de leer en ciertos momentos debido a la crudeza de la realidad que retrata, también considero que es increíblemente poderoso y necesario.. La amistad entre estas dos sin duda es el alma de la novela, y toda su evolución a lo largo de la historia es hermosa. Yo lo recomiendo altamente, le doy una calificación de 4.7/5. Definitivamente, es un libro que recomiendo a cualquiera que busca una lectura profunda y emocional, y que no tenga miedo a adentrarse a las realidades más duras de la vida..
Lo más triste de esto es que, aunque en esta ocasión se hable de ficción, estas cosas realmente están pasando en la actualidad. No es como que no pasaran y solo se quedaran en la ficción, ojalá fuera así, pero este no es el caso.. hay muchas mujeres y demás personas que realmente están viviendo un infierno, y es sumamente triste. Esto puede dejarte muy tocado del alma, pero bueno, espero que se animen a leer esta historia. Como les dije, a pesar de sus temas, la considero una historia necesaria en la actualidad, y de la cual muchos de nosotros podemos aprender. Nos vemos en las próximas reseñas, cuídense, bye bye.
